SunCom GPRS Settings and WM2003

Greetings.

I recently bought a Motorola Mpx200 and upgraded it to WM2003 via eBay. (One downside of this upgrade is that my version seems to lack T9 support for letter input!)

Anyway, does anyone know the GPRS Settings for SunCom's iLink service? I'm trying my darnest to get this thing to connect, and although it has the little 'G' showing that GPRS is available, I get a failed connection each time I attempt.

Thanks

Twisted

Hi Twisted

I think this is how you get connected on Suncom. Let us know if you get it working OK :D

First add iNet GPRS service AND i-Link modem service to you account.

Phone setup

Settings-Data Connections

Menu-Edit Connections

GPRS connections

Menu-Add

Description: Suncom Internet

Connects to: The Internet

Access point: internet

User name:

Password:

Primary DNS:

Secondary DNS:

IP address:

In Settings - Data connections

Internet Connection: Suncom Internet

In Internet Explorer, Menu-Options-Connections

Untick 'Auto detect settings'

Set 'Select network: 'The Internet'

Was anyone EVER able to find out how to get the MPx220 to run in the GPRS? Anybody got an idea or solution? I tried Martin's answer and it is still not connecting - all I have been able to get since getting this phone is "Unable to connect. Verify you have network coverage and try again." I have been looking every where for an answer here, could somebody please help.

I'm right there with ya JDUB!! I have done EVERYTHING and still apparently can't get it right. I think that we both have the wrong APN. the one that they give you through suncom (mobileinternet) is not right I dont think. I have tried internet, http://wap.suncom.com, basically almost any combination of the words mobile, internet, wap, suncom..... lol I'm about to give up and go with cingular if I don't get it soon!! Their tech support is about the biggest bunch of idiots I've ever talked to. I've given up on them for sure!! But anyway feel free to IM me anytime I am pretty sure I have everything but the APN so... maybe we can help each other!! lol

IT REALLY DOES WORK NOW!!! ok so this was like those tests in high school where if you read the directions it tells you that you only have to write your name and turn it in!!! lol I have been messing with this phone TRYING to get the internet to work for DAYS!!! (very little sleep) and all along it was right there at the top of the instructions put i-net AND i-link on your phone!! haha and yes it works...

but for anybody reading this... Suncom will try to tell you that to use i-link you need data cable. They are ALL idiots. they apparently don't really understand anything about new technology... oh wait that's because they don't sell anything with new technology!!! Now I officially love my phone... fully working!!
