Guest grumpy_old_technobyte Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 At first i tried using Smartione to locate the folder since the phone's file manager nor activsync's explore inability to find. If someone could lead me in right direction using Smartione or Regedit, they work the same.

Guest grumpy_old_technobyte Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 Ok, Ive added several mp3's to the both main sound folders on the system storage(FileManager/Storage/AppData/Sounds and FileManager/Storage/MyDocuments/MySounds). But when I go to select the sound to play for an alarm in the Start/Settings/Sounds it's not listed. Those prerecorded sounds are archived in the ROM and attributed with the System check marked in Properties. You cant checkmark System in the Properties using the phones file manager nor Activsync. So you gotta be able to do it through a registry editor program. Im surprised no ones done this before. Those alarm sound files are LAME-O!!!
Guest jporch316 Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 Convert your mp3s to wavs - mine definately show up in Start/Settings/Sounds/alarms. without messing with the registry Also my .mid (polyphonic) files also show up All are stored in storage card/my documents
Guest ddieter Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 I had a similar question and somebody was able to help me out with it. Check it out: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=204008 Basically I just manually changed the sound for the alarm to a wma file, but you have to keep manually changing it anytime you reboot the phone or access the sounds menu in settings....
