Use c500 as a webcam on msn

Hullo,

It works with MSN 7.0 Beta with my c500... But when I wanna write anything to the screen of MSN, the image from my phone disappears, you know; when using a window in XP, the other stays backside ;) Try thr instructions guys, it worked on my c500...

Now i have another problem. I have got everything to work like a dream, expect that then someone wants to see me on webcam over MSN Messenger 7.0, its still shows the Star on a black sky, there it stands "Lumnusoti" in it. Please, how do i get what my cam shows to show then i launch the webcam over MSN.

I got it to work on my XP Home Service Pack 2. It worked like a charm yesterday. I could see it on MSN and everything. But now, it does not work at all ;) Please help.

If you are trying to use it with MSN Messenger make sure you have the newest version possible (1.52) If you dont have this version you can download it here http://www.softcam.com/sc_2000_prerelease.html. Hope this helps 8)

I also had this problem and there was a very simple solution....

Make sure softcam is CLOSED then open the Audio/Tuning Wizard in msn. On the third page of the wizard it should show the black background and sun logo of luminositi. Start Softcam up now and you should see that in the wizard the display changes to the contents of the yellow box. Continue as normal after this and this time when opening a video conversation the luminositi pic should now be replaced by uu phonbes camera.

I have found an alternative for SoftCam, its called Camtasia (recorder)

I didnt know that Camtasia can stream live video. How do you setup Camtasia and MSN then?

You have to select camtasia recorder. From camtasia recorder select options, there is an option called "Live", enable live output.

After that configure your own webcam program.

I wasn't able to install the Live Output feature so it was disabled on my machine.

A reinstall fixed it. Thanks for the info. ;)

The other person cannot see me!!

Everything looks to be working fine, my messenger window is displaying what my phone is seeing after i select the 'start sending webcam' but when the other person chooses to accept it tries to connect for a while and after a while stops without the other person ever seeing it. I can select softcam fine in messenger webcam settings and have also tried camtasia, both of which appear to work and display the remote activesync image in messengers webcam window, but exhibit the same problem of the other person being unable to connect. Any ideas?

Sadly I can't get it to work either. When I go into MSN and audio/video tuning wizard I get 'Sorry, the camera is not working properly' or something like that.

After I chose the Luminositi as the camera. I'm currently downloading camtasia, gonna give that a try.

Hi everyone sorry if im goin over old ground here but i just cant undersatnd how to stop getting a blank screen same as yarod_g14

I have been trying to use this with my Magician as well. In theory I can see how this is going to work but in practice no matter which device I sync to my PC all I get is a Very dark red screen when I start the camera APp. I can record input from the phone but I cant see what is coming from the Cam!

I have tested XDA MDA compact and E200, all go black or dark red and I get all buttons and tool bars with no picture.

I have a problem with remote sync. I can't see on my desktop what the camera sees. I can see through remote everything else, but the image on camera aplication does not show up, it's just a grey backgroud.

Could it be a missing codec?

It is somehow like when you press PrintScreen over a divx movie and try to paste it in Paint... the film doesn't show up, just black.

Im running an SPV E200 and just cant get the cameras output. Can anyone help spell it out to me? :roll:

Just to say I got this working too.

The key for me was to shut SC (had to do it task manager - wouldnt leave the taskbar otherwise :S) and go to Audio and video settings in MSN, then reopen SC.
