Guest Charlie Mouse Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Does anyone know how to make Media Player's Media Library default to the storage card rather than 'My Device'? I had it working and I am pretty sure I changed a registry setting to do it but I did a hard reset yesterday and cant find the setting anymore. It's driving me nuts, I know it should be there somewhere but its not! Could someone have a look in their registry under: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer And see if there is a setting somewhere called 'defaultLocation' or something like that. I remember I changed it from a 0 to a 1 to get it to default to the Card. Cheers.
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 So, has nobody got a registry editor installed then? Anybody?
Guest spidermunky Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 So, has nobody got a registry editor installed then? Anybody? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've given up on Media Player. I find Betaplayer to work much better overall, even if it doesn't look as nice. http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/ Greg
Guest MitchellO Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Exactly my thought. It isn't nearly as pretty, but they are working on skins!! Betaplayer is soooo much better, and the playlist just works properly. WMP10 sucks. I don't know why people are wanting to upgrade to it, as I am disappointed in it. For me, WMP9 was much better.
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 Thanks for all your comments but could you have a look in your registries for anything relating to the default location for the media library. Even a reply that you couldn't find it would be helpful. Cheers.
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Found it!!! For those that are interested, if you want the media player library to default to the Storage Card change the following registry setting from a 0 to a 1: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\LastLibraryIndex
