Guest DJHope Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 Erm yes i love it too, but orange are really starting to annoy me with this certification issue WHY IN HELL DONT THEY ASK US WHAT WE WANT? Their not even up for any kind of negotiation! DJ Hope
Guest ilscuro Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 The futures bright the futures BOLLOX
Guest MECX Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Haha you think microsoft would test there software before they release it. you think orange would be pissed with people being able to screw with the software putting there network at 'risk'----it must be costing them loads--think of all the SPV's they could be selling if they wernt waiting for the update.
Guest BobbyMac Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Orange calls on developers who want to create applications for the SPV to go through the certification process. The company will launch a Web site for SPV developers at the end of February, according to the statement. With the price of 600$ for the certification? Is it a joke or what? Hey, Orange, we've f****d you up and now it's over. You're the loser, we're the winner.
Guest DJHope Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 End-of feburary what a load of s*it!
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I doubt that phone stocks are being held back by the certification issue, they seem to have been unable to keep supply up to demand for this phone from day 1. This is just the latest easy excuse. "It's not that we can't manage stock or manufacturing, it's the evil hackers that are stopping you purchasing our phone"
Guest Ed Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 With the price of 600$ for the certification? Is it a joke or what? Hey, Orange, we've f****d you up and now it's over. You're the loser, we're the winner. What on earth does that mean?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Haha you think microsoft would test there software before they release it. The majority of software, at least in the operation systems market, released by Microsoft is full of bugs and glitches. What service pack is NT on now? 6b or something. XP had a service pack out within a year of its release. Don't forget although the SPV is a "phone with pda functions", it still uses an operation system completely different to any other mobile out there, other than symbios. Give it a chance and learn to expect software has glitches, especially Microsofts ;)
Guest MECX Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Give it a chance and learn to expect software has glitches, especially Microsofts ;) i agree you have to expect glitches but microsoft seem to have missed out key functions as well (sms counter, gprs counter) this could have been done on purpose to encourage people to devlop apps to fills these gaps. no matter what microsoft/orange do people will always find a way to beat certification--unless they make it easy and cheap. why dont they make it so when a phone is unlocked for developing the apps made by a certain person can only be used on that phone, i.e anybody can get an individual certificate but apps cant be shared, then allow people to send there programs to orange (for free)and orange can virus check them and give them certification then put them up on a web site for a small charge (50p £1) for administration or for free----if people want to make and sell there own programs they will have to pay the cost for this. just a thought
Guest DJHope Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 i agree sendo did a much better job
