Guest Davey Mc Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 im on premier 600 and was told by osps they are only doing new contracts. Which is fine by me cos i reckon i would get one from Orange before them. Well maybe not actually. Just a thought but do you reckon they might compensate me for looking at this screen 15hrs a day. 3 days ago i had 2020 vision, I need glasses now i think
Guest Ston Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Just ordered an upgrade from scancom. They took my details and I told them that I was out of contract. They called me back within the hour and said that my current contract runs out in September (which actually is about right if I think about it, so its obviouse that they are in contact with Orange over these upgrades) but there will not be a fee to break out the contract... just the £99 for the phone upgrade. Its being delivered tomorrow and enabled between 17:00 and 21:00. Will let you all know.
Guest Hax Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 (edited) Just "chatted" to someone from MobileShop through their "live help" and asked them to clarify their stock situation for the M500. The reply I got was: Lizelle: we are receiving them tomorrow. I now have an order placed with both MobileShop and OSPS - wonder which will arrive first... (one of them will be going back - that's for sure!) Edited July 14, 2005 by Hax
Guest Hax Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Ston - you'll probably find that your contract will have simply been extended by 12 months
Guest Davey Mc Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 They might not charge a fee but i would contact orange to make sure they havent stuck a 75 quid upgrade fee on there to be on the safe side

Guest Dade Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 sorry bout that guys. The thing frooze and then decided to put the same post on a few times Not anymore!
Guest Ston Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Thanks for the concern but I made sure that all I was paying was £99 + P&P. Hax - Not sure what is ment by 'you'll probably find that your contract will have simply been extended by 12 months'... doesn't that happen anyway when you upgrade your phone? Cheers
Guest dan13l Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 According to the wife, mine's arrived from BuyMobilePhones :) Will confirm when I get home from work. If its arrived, I really can't fault the service from BuyMobilePhones :D Does anyone know what the case is like that comes with the M500? Should I be getting another one ordered? Where can I get a humongous sd card from too, ideally next day delivery :D
Guest Hax Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Yeah - that does happen - but normally, it's 12 months from the date of the upgrade. As you are upgrading early, it'll probably be an extra 12 months added onto the end of your current contract, and not 12 months from when you get the new phone

Better still just get a good screen protector and forget cases!

Guest soup dragon Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 IT'S HERE!!! Edit: ^^ ok then fat boy :) 3 minutes out... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you think they were waiting for us to fill 30 pages of discussion before releasing it??
Guest soup dragon Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I had a click around and it doesn't seem to be available on the upgrade section (http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/handsets/upgrade/orange/all) grrr I also called OCS and the lady said it wasn't on her system yet I want... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The girl I spoke to is talking to the tech people to see why it isn't on the upgrade system and is calling me back within 30 mins. She sees no reason why it shouldn't be available.
Guest Ston Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Spoke to Orange to see what the score was... and the operator kept telling me it wasn't on her stock list, she said they only do 3 SPV phones C500, C550 and the M2000. I asked if she could go to their website and look it up. She kindly obliged and said, 'oh yeah, I can see it there. Let me talk to my supervisor' '... its only avaliable to new customers' she came back and said. At which point I said 'So I am being penalised for being an existing customer?' 'You are putting words into my mouth Sir, but I see where you are coming from' was the response back. I ended the conversation with 'Let your supervisor know what I just said and I am not a happy customer' I left it at that as I have one arriving tomorrow. pppfff
Guest Hax Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Just called OSPS - was told that they're expecting stock in SEVEN days!?!? Had another chat with Mobileshop "Live Help" person and was told that stock would be with them tomorrow and the phones would be sent out Royal Mail Special Delivery. So, it looks like the M500 I ordered from MobileShop will be with me on Saturday - then I just need to cancel my order with OSPS. Amazing how incompetent one outfit is compared to another. I really can't understand why OSPS staff seem unable to give the same responses as each other - they're surely all reading from the same computer system :s Ah well - mustn't grumble - roll on Saturday! I feel a bit like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. Did anyone else used to go to bed earlier on Christmas Eve so that the night would pass "quicker"? Comtemplating sleeping for 36 hours ¬_¬
Guest jclivingston Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Orange are missing a trick here. I was prepared to pay £75 for an upgrade now despite the fact that my contract is up in 5 weeks time. By the time the M500 is available to existing customer's I suspect that I will be getting it for free
Guest Russell@home Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Ok, just called OCS, the guy there told me that it was only available to corporate & business customers. Told him that it was on the website to buy & he acknowledged that it was & insisted that it was only business & corporate with no release date to domestic. Are they out to drive customers away???
Guest pug205 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I also just spoke to OCS 10 mins ago and the lady to told me they are not sure at the moment what the status is on the phone. They acknowledge its on the web site, but are not sure whether its available to Domestic, Business or Corporate on upgades and they are seeking confirmation from their management. They will call back tomorrow. Sounds like a honest reply to me.. Not much use, but honest.
