Guest pdaxtras Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 I thought the network coverage selling point was a thing of the past, I don't know anyone who struggles with coverage in my area on any of the networks
Guest Davey Mc Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 The laughable thing about Wendy's reply is that it's orange.co.uk that is feeding us the information that the M500 should be available! As for Orange relying on superior coverage to pull in customers - well, that certainly isn't the case round here, I live reasonably central in London yet still they struggle. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your right mate, i said on a earlier post T-Mobile officially has the best coverage in this country now, so orange are no longer leaders in that field as they where for so long.
Guest Dade Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 sorry mate seems where not nearly there, he is a email i have received Dear David Thank you for your email regarding your pay monthly phone. It is disappointing to learn that you wish to complain regarding our service. Firstly, I would like to apologise if your previous emails were not responded to. We do aim to answer all incoming emails and sorry if this was not achieved. Whilst I understand your dissatisfaction that you are unable to upgrade to the SPV M500, unfortunately this phone is only for Business Customers only and we have no plans at present to introduce this to our domestic accounts. Whilst, we try our best to fulfil our customers requirements, we can not always offer customers exactly what they want. We do have certain procedure we must adhere to. If you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact Customer Services on 150 from your mobile or 07973100150 from another phone to speak to a representative who will gladly assist you. The department is open 24 hours a day. For further information on our products and services please visit our website at www.orange.co.uk I trust my response addresses your query and reassure you that we do value all our customers. Kind regards Wendy Orange Customer Services so seems we are no nearer to getting this phone than last month Im stunned that you have that in writing. My contacts at Orange are at an extremely high level and they are saying that the M500 should be available now!

Guest zippy172 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 As the old maxim goes... "You can'd educate pork"... Seems a lot of OCS staff are of the pig variety

Guest zippy172 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Sorry for the multiple posts, seems the MoDaCo server needs a lil lie down...rest it's weary NICs
Guest tik Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 bit harsh zippy - with a few exceptions most the OCS people i've spoken to have been pretty polite & tried to help, just don't have the slightest clue what's going on
Guest Hax Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Just called MobileShop to check the status of the delivery of M500s that I was told they were expecting today. And, it's good news - they're still expecting a delivery today - but on top of that, they're also expecting a delivery on Monday too! So, whilst Orange themselves may not be offering the handset to us, it seems as if everyone else is! I don't know if MobileShop are offering them on upgrades though... Just called OSPS to check their stock status - and all the person at the other end of the line would say to me is: "I haven't got a guaranteed due date on them" - I pointed out that other retailers are receiving stock and he just re-iterated the above sentence. So, looks like MobileShop will be getting my custom - and OSPS will be relegated to the depths of "I'd never touch them with a barge-pole" Glad I placed two orders now :)
Guest Dade Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 [Deep voice] 'Dade....... International man of mystery' [/Deep voice] :) Maybe you should very respectfully sugest they should tell someone else at Orange? I have been pushing them to do this for ages, its soooo annoying, its always been my universal issue with Orange, they cant comminicate internally and no one seems to care!
Guest zippy172 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 bit harsh zippy - with a few exceptions most the OCS people i've spoken to have been pretty polite & tried to help, just don't have the slightest clue what's going on <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, to be fair, my comment was based purely on what I've read on the 30 odd pages this thread extends to. That said, for a giggle I thought I'd call OCS (0500 801080, let them pay for the call) to see what the beef was. First up, my contract expires 31st August, so I'm in no rush to wet my pants for this M500 upgrade, if it happens... The young lady I spoke to was very helpful however...She said the phone was available now to new customers (no mention of biz custs) and she hoped the handset would be available on upgrade. I added it was obviously some time before I can think about upgrades and she concluded the convo with that perhaps it could be available before then. So...my experiences of OCS haven't changed from the last time I spoke to them about upgrades (before my C500 I was using a nasty nokia 7650, remember them?) almost a twelve month ago :)

My business has been carrying out work for a large credit card company for the last 8 years. During all of this time the lack of communication between some of their departments has been frightening. I might send a email to watchdog. if enough people do orange will sit up and take notice.

Guest Davey Mc Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 generous to credit the powers that be at orange with opposable thumbs there russell :) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> we should do a new post called why we hate orange, would be fairly interesting.

Guest tik Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Come to think of it, it's a bloody stupid campaign. New customers will want to be impressed by the awesome deals they get if they go to Orange. Existing customers will stay if they are offered a good deal, but will just be really peeved if the TV & web ads keep telling them how well they're being looked after when it isn't actually the case. So, other than the few people who consider joining the network on the basis of how well they will be treated at least 12 months down the line (surely not that many?) who the hell are they actually advertising to?!
Guest NikLP Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Agreement all round. As we like to say round these parts, "It's a complete f***ing shambles, Ken."
Guest Hax Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Woohoo!!!
