Guest soup dragon Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Woohoo!!! Just got an e-mail from MobileShop: Ooooh yeah - hopefully have it tomorrow then - like they promised :) Screw you OSPS :D :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good for you. I'm hoping that fonetasticmobile don't drag their heels either.
Guest Davey Mc Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Woohoo!!! Just got an e-mail from MobileShop: Ooooh yeah - hopefully have it tomorrow then - like they promised :) Screw you OSPS :D :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just spoken to a supervisor there cos yet again apparently there are no managers available. Another joke, who just said the email i received is correct they are not releasing to Domestic customers, apparently the dealers selling these are not allowed to sell to domestic and wont get the commison for setting these accounts up, i askedwhy orange are selling them tom domestic on the website and she sounded stumped and said its only for business. How can orange deliver good customer service when everyone in the call centre is unaware of exactly what is going on. This is ridiculous. There not fit to run a burger van.
Guest ClintEastman Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Well, if you make switch your contract over to pay as you go you have to keep it for 3 months before you can change it to a Pay monthly contract. :) Retentions have also just cut me down half way through a conversation and told me to cancel my contract or use my PAC code... "Which one would you like?" SO i guess thats me over to T-Mobile then.
Guest tik Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 were you playing nicely with retentions? Assuming you weren't on the windup, that sort of behaviour sounds worthy of a formal complaint. (Meanwhile I had the bizarre of experience earlier of ringing to ask what state of play was, being told "I don't know, sorry, but before you go can I interest you in an offer of PAYG simcards for £1 each? Would you like to order 5 now?")

I used to get bout 200 quid a month worth to save up for christmas, although most of the time i bought myself stuff cos you cant help it, its like free money
Guest NikLP Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Just so we know for future reference - when we all finally decide to leave what is rapidly becoming the Lemon of phone network operators - who is the next best network and why? Slightly off (original) topic but hopefully we can accomodate one or two replies to this as it seems relevant at the moment? I personally have been with Orange for SEVEN years and am constantly surprised how disorganised they are becoming.

That has got to be complete and utter bull! New Orange slogan "Orange, cant even run a bath" or " The futures bright, shame about Orange"
Guest ClintEastman Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 I always play nice!!! Basically I think it was the fact that i got her to admit (without giving her time to think about it) that the only way i can get the service i want was to cancel my contract (with Orange) and get a new one (with Orange). Then she panicked (that’s the kind of thing Orange DON'T want there staff telling there customers. The upshot of it is that i now have a NEW Orange contract, with the phone i want, on the tariff i want (not only a lower one but with half price for 3 months) just a different number, so i have what I want but orange now receive less money from me, how utterly STUPID! :)
Guest tik Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 woe betide those of us who are currently on contracts that comfortably beat anything they're offering to new customers! "He who turns his back on faithful customers deserves a beating" Time to assemble the mob...
Guest beersoft Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 looks like the magical orange web department are doing things without telling anyone else whats going on, http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/handset...spv_m500/detail you can (according to the website) order a m500 for £199 on a cheapass tarrif, £99 on a £25+ tariff and £49 on a £50+ tariff and have the same fun with those prices on upgrades as well /me gives up phoning 150 to ask for one "your going to have to wait ....SIX MINUITES..{crappymusk}...dialtone later Owen

New Orange slogan "Orange, cant even run a bath" or " The futures bright, shame about Orange" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok just spoke to the Nexus call centre manager(helen Cohen) and she knew nothing about dealers selling it, nothing about it being on the orange website and nothing about it being available to orange domestic. She was probably the most polite person i hav spoken to there and she said she cant do anything other than report it. She did agree it was wrong for the company to release the handset to new customers and not existing customers first.

Just spoke to exec and they dont have stock at the moment. They say the handsets they have for domestic is for testing and they cant send them out as they dont have the full orange software and could be a few bugs. the bloke said business are out of stock but when they get stock i can have one with a 100 quid credit, 300 pound off me line rental over the year and my upgrade fee waived(only a fortnight till out of contract so would have had that anyway) and the handset free.

Guest Davey Mc Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 you've gotta be kidding on that davey...just to piss off orange, right??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No mate thats what the bloke said....So i am now onfor the wait to see when they do actually release it for domestic upgrades. When anyone does let us know so i can phone up an make sure they have sent me one.
Guest tik Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 what's the justification for the £300 off line rental & £100 credit? FFS they'll be paying you more than you're paying them this year!
Guest shakey68 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 It's nothing out of the ordinary as far as I can see. My business has been carrying out work for a large credit card company for the last 8 years. During all of this time the lack of communication between some of their departments has been frightening. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> how easy is it to cancel an order with OSPS? is it just a matter of ringing up, although thats been impossible as the phones don't seem to have been working all day.

"Yeah, but my mate is getting THIS tarriff for the same price what gives?? [you ****ers?!]"

Guest Ston Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 (edited) Ordered from scancom on Thursday, and it arrived at my Dad's house (he is retired and in most days) at mid-day today. The Mrs is picking it up as I type ! So M500 as an Upgrade in under 24 hours... not bad. Edited July 15, 2005 by Ston

DO you know anything we dont. you seem to be the bloke to ask I dont know much more than I have already said. According to my sources there is no reason why we shouldnt be able to order them NOW. But I too am getting a lot of negative replies from OCS, even when I press them.
