Guest soup dragon Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 New Orange slogan "Orange, cant even run a bath" or " The futures bright, shame about Orange" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Will the last person to leave Orange please switch off the transmitters.
Guest sleighty Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Ordered from scancom on Thursday, and it arrived at my Dad's house (he is retired and in most days) at mid-day today. The Mrs is picking it up as I type ! So M500 as an Upgrade in under 24 hours... not bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> HAPPY NEW PHONE Ston! I looked at Scancom site but couldnt see upgrades offered. Did you have to do it by phone? Bet youre like a child with a new puppy this morning!
Guest Hax Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Woo-hoo - 2 minutes pass 9 and it's here! :) Just took a quick piccy of it sat next to my mouse for size comparison - it's actually smaller than I thought it was gong to be - my mouse looks liea monster next to it!
Guest samandiain Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 (edited) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm currently unable to upgrade until August 6th! This somehow happened because my GF and I went to an orange shop so she could upgrade to a SE k750i. Whilst we were discussing the options we decided to go onto orange family, after checking this wouldn't tie me in to a new contract, stop me upgrading whenever i wanted, or stop me leaving orange. However the managed to mess it up supremely! They arranged the account transfer to the family plan before doing my GFs upgrade, no problems with that part. We'll both be getting 50% extra minutes shortly. But until that gets fully processed ( something to do with billing dates?) they are unable to process upgrades for either of us! This is a bit of a bummer, as I've just written a new url for orange's website. It's not working well for me, but you may wish to try this link! shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/handset/orange_spv_m500/detail/upgrade Good luck, let me know if it works! Ta, Iain Edited July 16, 2005 by samandiain
Guest zippy172 Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 (edited) That site is working for me, I've recently downgraded my plan to £19 a month, therefore the site quotes me an approximate upgrade fee of £88.12. The phones on offer are: Free upgrade to C500 (which I currently use :-k ) £249.99 upgrade to the M2000 Absolutely NO mention of the M500... Edited July 16, 2005 by zippy172
Guest RazorD Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 I decided last night to not upgrade until the universal comes along, so! O2, T-Mobile, Vodaphone, Orange: The first one to release it wins me!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Even retensions can not give me a good deal on the C550 :) but the best bit is they claim that if the websites offers the M500 to anyone now it is a mistake as they insist they still only sell to business customers.

Amazed you can't get a good deal on the C550, I'd have thought they'd be giving them away free?
Guest Russell@home Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 When I spoke to OCS a couple of days ago, I was told that I could have the C550 for free!
Guest Ston Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Hi, Questions for those that have an M500... How do you turn it off? It says to turn the phone off you need to hold the power button in for 2 seconds, but I do that and it just turns the backlight off... I can get it to turn the screen off but if I dial it, it rings... How do I actually turn the whole thing off. When it got activated lastnight, it didn't pick up the new signal, so I had to remove the battery and power it back up for it to connect to Orange. Thanks, Ston (Call me stupid)
Guest MitchellO Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 I decided last night to not upgrade until the universal comes along, so! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Here here!!!

Guest Ston Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 MitchellO, Nice one, thanks. I keep forgetting this is more of a pocket pc than a phone and that the phone can be turned off seperatly. Cheers.
Guest mavisdavis Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Getting my C550 on Monday. Free upgrade after a call to Retentions complaining about the 3 upgrade fees I was quoted in 3 days. Im into my 8th month of last years contract and start a new one on Monday on Exclusive yor plan 200 with 500 texts for £30. Not bad for a bit of polite bantering regarding thier latest adds :)

As long as I get my free M500 (before xmas...).

A couple of years ago they gave me 500x-net for £25 so all being well this won't be too much of push.

Hope you manage to wangle something. Edited July 16, 2005 by tik

Guest jamesb Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 I was thinking about ordering an M500 today - either from www.mobileshop.com or www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk. A lot of people have said they have bought through mobileshop but has anyone had any experience of onestop? They seem to have a better deal on the YP200 tariff offering 4 months line rental free but I'm wondering where the catch is.
Guest Russell@home Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 (edited) I don't know anyone who has had a good experience with osps, read some of the comments on this thread alone or search the forums :) Edited July 17, 2005 by Russell@home

I've been reading this thread and others quite a lot but didnt realise who osps were. I'll go and read (some of!) the thread again. :D
Guest Russell@home Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 :) No worries! It is Sunday morning after all! :D
Guest Saif Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 Good luck - I believe they've drawn an end to matching the 3 tariffs, even through retentions. Hope you manage to wangle something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is not so... They are called 'Select' Tarriffs and only Retentions can offer them. I just renewed my contract and got 750 xnet minutes anytime with 120 free texts all for the measly sum of £35/mth. I thought it was a bit of a bargain actually... :) Had to go for the SE K750i though as there was no M500 at the time... but you can't beat O for matching 3. You'll need to threaten to leave... ask for your PAC number... let them cool off... call back a few days later and then say... "I thought I'd call back just to make sure you don't want to keep me as a customer and offer me xxxx." If they don't bite don't worry as the PAC will just expire. Best of luck. :D
