Guest Cantona Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Called 150 yesterday.......was quoted £100 for a M500 on renewal. Then mentioned T-mobile deals and asked to be transferred to the PAC/disconnection department. Was then put on to a supervisor who let me have it for free. Result!

I rung orange about it, to see if i could get a consignment number, i spoke to 3 people in total, 2 told me "it only has a reference number here, not a consignment yet.." (which must mean it hasnt been shipped?) and the last guy said "I don't think you'll get it today. They've had some problems getting the phones out" Spoke to parcelline too, who wont talk to me unless i have a consignment number, but i tried with the reference number they've given me, which brought up obsolutely nothing on their system :) Oh dear... -Raz

Maybe another call to the Muppet Show will shed some more light onto this. Why do Orange tease me so? :) UPDATE: Just rang Kermit and co, they're saying it should be with me today, but could take between 3 - 5 working days. Asked the woman not to be rude to me on the phone and reminded her the customer is always right and didn't she remember that from her helpdesk training :) Spoke to supervisor who said their parcel line tracking system is down but that the parcel should have been dispatched today. Spoke to Parcel line, no parcels going to my post code today.

Orange apparenty are aware of these issues there is a problem with the phones getting to parcel line or somthing like this. delivery will not happen today and once orange know when these will be dispached they will call all users back to inform them...... Fat chance of a call... and will orange ever get this phone out.......

Guest Photon Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Well I just phoned Orange again, and this time got a helpful upgrades person. It would seem from what she said that they have been swamped with people pointing out that the m500 is basically free on T-Mobile. She spoke with the relevant people on my behalf, but was told that they were unable to do that. After my experience with disconnections (basically he couldnt wait to disconnect me, and didnt care about anything else) I'm not going to go down that route again, however she did give me the official address for compaints (available on request) so a lengthy complaint letter with be going to them, and I will be contacting the advertising standards agency as well. Other than that I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay the 100 quid. I dont really want to transfer from Orange for a multitude of reasons, as sad as it is. It is the phone I want, but even the upgrades woman found it odd that some customers were told oh yes, we'll match T-Mobile, and others were told to bugger off, or had the phone put down on them. She confirmed that this price was probably an introductory price, but also said that it probably wouldnt go down for 2 or 3 months at least. It must be said the entire experience with this phone has been a fiasco from start to end :)

I won't be ordering one of these until this thread shows that they have finally got their act together, which they plainly haven't yet.

She said she has no way of getting in touch with dispatch, so cant guarentee it will leave/has left today... She did say the most it takes from time of order is 72 hours... *doesnt hold breath*

Its sooo much better build than my p900, which used to creak and rattle after a week. This seems solid, the only thing that feels like it hasnt been milled from a block of alloy is the volume slider on the side. Its pretty loose. :D Just getting used to windows now, very different feel to the device, as its my first ppc. Dont worry guys, i expect yours will be with you soon. :) Edited July 20, 2005 by Jim81

Now im really getting annoyed, cause at least one person who ordered *AFTER* me had it delivered today, so why the hell hasnt mine left them yet. GRRR.
