Guest sameerabedi Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 yes it works perfectly only the pirated version does not work <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have a problem. I have the original TomTom (I copied the MMC card onto a mini SD card for my phone) but after the update, although it loads up successfully, the screen is all fuzzy and I can't see the map or menu screens. Any ideas what to do???? Thanks :?:
Guest niai Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Niai... Don't really know what the problem is but you could try converting the video using Windows Media Encoder first. You can grab it from here. I hope you find the answer you were actually looking for tho! :?: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Madeye, I didn't really explain myself very well. If I go into the sync properties in WMP10 on my PC the Video/TV Quality Level settings are greyed out. If I try to sync a .WMV with "Convert Files As Required By This Device" ticked then I am informed that "Windows Media Player cannot convert the file to the format required by the device". If I untick "Convert Files As Required By This Device" then the file is copied fine. Is there anyway to force WMP to convert the video to a lower quality for the phone or am I missing some components? Installing the WMEncoder didn't help.
Guest monstersc Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 so it would appear to me that trying to install the english version when you already have the french one is not a good idea. just lost all my data for nothing. great stuff

Guest McCune Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Strange.. ..at the moment I'm using the French update. After installing the UK (had to edit the header with the NBF-tool) the ROM installs just like it should. After the install and reboot, it stays French! :?: Anyone??
Guest shadyy Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 I downloaded it and it's work fine, Sim remain unlocked, don't be afraid !!! Nice update while we looking for Ver. 5 Thanks
Guest sameerabedi Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Has anyone had a problem with TomTom Mobile after installing the update? I installed the update and now when I run TomTom, although it loads up properly and connects with the GPS receiver, the screen and menus are all fuzzy and I can't see anything. Please help - I can't be without TomTom - that would be a disaster. Thanks Sameer

Guest moo Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) Just updated to newest firmware last nite, i ussed sprite backup before hand then restored after the update and now my phone refuses to ring :/ tryed changing the ring tones to no avai, its just completly silent. Its on the normal profile, the number i call from doesn have a special ringtone, the volumes turned up. So yeah bit stuck, any clues? You do i have to suffer the pain of downgrading. Cheers Edited July 12, 2005 by moo
Guest trignlo Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Worked for me to, downgraded to a french rom version first then restarted in boot mode and installed uk version. This is not the same as the French version as there is an extra icon on the top line to say 'not in a call', and the old trick of holding the '#' keys to swap from line 1 to line 2 works (it didn't in the French version). I'm happy with it.... TnF
Guest hunyango_uk Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 at last, well better late than never. thank you. :)

Guest sameerabedi Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 From all the posts on this topic, it seems that TomTom 4 doesn't work with the C500 upgrade, but TomTom 5 does! Is that correct?
