I've decided not to be so hard on it...

...after all, it's a good looking lass. Tall and slim, can't be all bad! :)

...but on the other hand, a rather wide lass wouldn't you say :)

I dont say much but I feel I have to comment.

This is a truly awful piece of design. Looks like a steam rollered TREO. Shite. Nuff said.

Steam rolled or what, my shirt pocket aint gonna be bulging with this in it and the phone surely looks good.

this is the single most hideous phone i have ever seen.

i shouldnt even get into it, its 2:18 AM.

but

i think this is the most intelligent/elegant smartphone to ever be manufactured.

everyone go have fun with your mini-SD card tucked under your battery, type some nice long emails with T9 (if not T9, please don't forget that cute little keyboard at home), watch a nice and tiny movie on that vertical screen (or turn your phone sideways- you loook so tech savvy!!), and at lunchtime- entertain all your friends with that super-loud mono speakerphone to play your tunes.

get with it people, this is an extremely functional design.

this phone makes that samsung I300 look horrible. this will be my smt5600 replacement.

call me old fashioned but i like my phone to resemble a phone. this looks like a hotch potch of different designs all shoved together in one very thin but very wide contraption.

admitedly it is a very smart phone, but it looks more like a smart tank.

Well comparing the dimensions to the c500 its really not that large and bulky as you might think. A bit too wide perhaps, maybe the Qtek 9090 is a better choice then?

Damn that thing is ugly! Well I guess in some cases functionality comes before form...

Still way too big to carry around in your pocket (and not to look like an idiot with "something" bulging in your pants), but truth to be told it is next to impossible to stuff physical qwerty-keyboard to a decent sized device.

WOW... it's small... it really is 'RAZR inspired'

And BTW atleast in my books RAZR equals 'rather slim'. Definately NOT small...

true, but it's not really THAT functional is it. it's still lacking things that every smartphone user CRAVES, ie WiFi, GPS, not looking like idiot holding a flat sheet of metal to yer head :) :D

To whoever asked, the bit under the keypad is not a palm rest as suggested but where the internal aerial is.

I'm not too sure about the design, it looks too much like a Treo with a shrunk screen.

The specs looks good, not sure about the design... a Treo650 with large trim on the side of the screen, EDGE and Wifi is more than a must in this day and age, Moto has understood the carrier are shy to introduce wifi in fear of killing their own markey share with voip... this device is targeting the Blackberry market no doubt, how better does WM2k5 integrate Exchange better than 2k3 btw ?

I'll take 3 please (love handles included!). Gorgeous little thing and perfectly suited to the function its designed for.

Only downer is no wifi (or sdio wifi). Bluetooth wifi adapter anyone...?

Looks pretty horrible imo, and wouldn't the weird screen ratio cause problems for some apps? Like all the other moto razr, slvr things, it's thin but wide (but I'm biased cause I'm not a fan of them).

What about 3G? Surely if you are releasing in 2006 that has to be included. People will go for the next generation of Symbian 3G smartphones with Activesync instead of this.

Agreed. Wifi and 3G are musts on my next phone. If that means symbian then I may just have to swallow that bitter pill.
