WMP ATL/COM interfacing

Hi All!

I'm using XP (sp2), EVC4 (all patched up to sp4), WMP 10 SDK, Smartphone 2003, (and Smartphone 2002 for regsvrce, etc)... all the latest dev kit...

the story so far....

Having downloaded the WMP10 SDK and gone through the process of creating a plugin for WMP (following instructions in the WMP10 SDK help), I have registered the plugin on my emulator with regsvrce.exe through IE. Also, I have built myself an app that attempts to create the WMP control and utilise my plugin (allowing my app to control WMP functionality), however neither

clsid:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6 (WMP7 and up) or

clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95 (older WMP versions)

are registered on the smartphone 2003 emulator nor for that matter on my QTek8080.

So therfore I can't debug on the emulator because I can't get an x86 WMP 10 for the emulator...

and I can't do anything with QTek8080 because WMP 10 isn't on there either..

It looks like my QTek8080 doesn't have a component based WMP, just a stand alone WMP.exe? Also that most smartphone implementations are similar in this respect..

1. Can anybody suggest what my next move might be?

2. Does my approach sound reasonable?

any thoughts on this matter would be most appreiciated!

thanks

matt
