Why is wifi so important in a smartphone

I'm not bothered my C600 doesn't have wifi.

If I need to access the web I prefer to use my wifi laptop - bigger screen, easier to navigate, faster etc.

Just my 2p worth!

I use my Universal on 3G - WiFi is great when you have access but 3G is easier on the move - at least until I have to start paying for it at the and of Feb!
