Looks great.

One small bug - it's displaying 'hidden' links.

Good work :o

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

fixed this in gStart v1.0

Thanks :(

You know what would also be good ? If Gstart were to hide itself from the running tasks (like activesync) so that it wouldnt have to be restarted if you for example press "close all" in Xbar :o

Am I right in thinking we still need to install & run CloseAppMan at start up ?

EDIT #2 : Yes we do ! To ensure gStart loads at Startup.

So, I'm attaching CloseAppman.exe which I've extracted from SurrealStart. You need to copy the folder into \Storage \Program Files and then create a shortcut from the exe inside and paste that into \Storage \Windows \Startup. A reboot may be needed but I didn't get a prompt from the phone at any point.

@ Pzee or other Mods :

1. Have I got this right ?

2. If CloseAppman is copyrighted to Space Monkey then please remove the attachment because he's much bigger than me.

Thanks for fixing the 'hidden links' bug.

I have another small problem. If I go in to a sub-folder and then come back out, I get a blank folder at the top of my start menu; also, the highlight bar changes and makes the selection almost invisible. If I select it, the screen re-draws and it disappears and everything is back to normal.

Another little problem for me is that all shortcuts with any of the following swedish characters (öäå) gets cut off from the character before...

so "Röstsamtal" becomes "R" and "Modemlänk" becomes "Modeml"...

I'm still looking at Multi-lingual support. A German site requested me for a German version. Maybe a swedish support next... let's see... :o

I agree... :(

This can be done using functionality that already exists in xBar. Just edit the xbar_cfg.ini file to include hideapp=gStart.exe; this is the same method that is used to hide ActiveSync :o

(What is slightly weird is that before I did this, gStart didn't always show up in the running apps list on xBar?!)

If it was possible to do that by using testers from this forum, I'm sure you would have no shortage of offers. I would certainly like to try this out, so would be glad to test anything you wanted.

I have a relatively interesting problem that i was seeking the answer to.

I've been using gStart Beta up untill today on my mpx220, when i found out that 1.0 came out. I hurried and installed it before i had to leave for school. But i realized that althought it starts fine on startup, i can't access many folders in the strart meny that i had before. (Eg - Clicking on the "Games" folder will result in nothing happening) However, any other direct links were fine.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times with no luck. This proved to be quite a problem so i decided to uninstall it untill solutions arise.

Can this be because of the fact that i did not uninstall the Beta before installing this one? If it is, how do i delete all the registry files from gStart?

If it's not, what might be the problem ?? I realli look forward to using this amazing app. again =)

thanks,

ed.

You can use File Manager to delete or rename system link files.

Hey thanks for the offer!

You could start by sending me screen shots of each page, together with feedbacks on what happens if you press any particular key.

That is, if it's not too much of a request... :(

Again, thanks dude. :o

You can delete the gStart registry key from

HKCU\Software and try installing again.

Thanks for the feedback.

:o

(Please make sure both versions are uninstalled and delete above registry key before reinstallation and check if this solves the problem.)
