Guest bluesmudge Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Common fualt mate - sorry its broken SOme people have been known to be able to get this back by inserting / removing headset slowly and making sure it is definalt making contact with the socket. But its a common fualt with the c500, mine has done it and the only way around it was to replace it im afraid :o If you do get the phone working again it is not advised to put a headset back in the phone.
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 This has been a problem with all SPVs. The problem is with the tiny switch inside the headphone socket. Some have cleared it with a sharp blow down the hole or with a careful poke with a matchstick.

Guest philsmith Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 I found a hint on another forum, which may have done the trick. I had a registry editor installed (http://www.phm.lu/Products/Smartphone/RegEdit/). I went to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Profiles and there is a Registry Value of ActiveProfile. I changed that from Headset to Normal, exited out and then switched the device off and on again. It seems to have come back in Normal! From: http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?op...58&Itemid=3

Guest whiteflippinjew Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Just wondering, do yall think the "using the paperclip/match" trick grounds the socket or what?
Guest artvandalay Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Just wondering, do yall think the "using the paperclip/match" trick grounds the socket or what? dont know but when mine gets stuck in headset, I just use the headphone jack and put it in and out a few times usually does the trick

Guest chmod-uk Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 (edited) This happened to me once. What i did was to get the original headphones that came with it and just plug them in and out. The original ones have the proper 2.5mm 4 pole adapter and i think after using my 2.5 to 3.5mm 3 pole adapter for a while it somehow stuck the switch inside. Anyway give it a try, it worked for me and i haven't had a problem since. Edited July 17, 2006 by chmod-uk
