I'm keen on getting an XDA Exec from o2 online but I would also still like to use my old SPV c500 from time to time.

Would the o2 3g sim work in the c500? I just rang o2 who said "no it wouldn't". However I do remenber getting a 3 simcard to work in my SPV classic a few years back.

Could anyone confirm this??

Cheers.

A SIM card is a SIM card is ....you can use it in your Notebook computer too if it has the right slot ;)

I have used the same SIM from a C500 into an iMate Jam and now in a C550.

I know that sim cards will work from other GSM phones I just wasn't sure about a sim card from a 3g phone being that 3g and GSM are different types of network.

o2 are offering a 14 day trial anyway so if it doesn't work I can always send it back.

Thanks guys :D

A SIM card is a SIM card but a USIM card is a USIM card.

3G SIM cards are USIM cards which is what you get with 3G phones such as the Exec. I know that Three USIMS do NOT now work with 2/2.5G phones (the old ones do but newer ones don't) If you use a Three USIM in a 2/2.5G phone for any length of time they will disable it and send you a new one which will only work in 3G phones.

I would not think that O2 would do that though as it does not make a lot of difference to them and as Nos said his worked fine in his C500 there should be no reason why an O2 USIM shouldn't work in any unlocked C500.
