Guest afhstingray Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I was reading abt a bunch of bugs on the o2 exec. is this because its using a old rom? orange took their time releasing their versison, is it because it has a newer rom? would appreciate it if someone could check cheers
Guest Pondrew Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Good point. Can someone check the Task Manager and see if it shows the Phone app? If not then it doesn't have the same bug as the Exec where the app isn't hidden so causing problems when it's closed.
Guest Will Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I cannot see it running, even when dialpad is open anything else? testing wifi with m5000 at the moment
Guest mthomas50 Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 The M5000 does not have the same task manager program as supplied on the O2 but the standard Task Manager (as accessed via Settings - System - Memory - Running Programs) does not show the Phonepad - i.e. its safe to close all running programs. A couple of things I have noticed with this device is that the screen is awesome but I'm not keen on the red backlight to the keyboard - The blue O2 one is so much better... Also can anyone recommend some good homescreen themes/plugins? I'm really disappointed with the default Orange homescreen - it really doesnt tell you much at all and with this nice hi-res screen there is loads of screen real estate just waiting to be used... In fact as this is my first PPC phone (used to be smartphone thru and thru) can anyone recommend some must have apps? Cheers M

Cheers M <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea blue backlights are always cool lol....anyway the software question is a bit OT but i wouldnt recommend installing anything unless you know for sure it works with wm5 properly. check out xda developers and you'll find real horror threads. sometimes it can cause the phone to hang on recipt of a text message and you lose it!! another thing that happens is also the screen re-orientation when it is flipped can take up to 6 seconds! thats why i wanted to know if the orange rom is better in any way...........but yea. third party apps really break it
Guest rickyburke Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 yeah i prefer the blue backlights, but the sensor only makes the backlights kick in when its dark, which is nice.
Guest Confucious Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 I'm checking out Spb Pocket plus which works fine with WM5 only problem is in landscape mode most of it's off the bottom of the screen but I'm sure I'll sort that out, apart from that it seems very good - still on the try before you buy period at the moment but think I will shell out for it.
