Guest No5 Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Somewhere in the topics, there was mention of "keyboard backlighting" (apparently different colours for Orange and O2) and the fact that this was controlled by a light sensor and hence only active in the dark. Is this true, or did I read a topic about another type of handset?! My M5000 already has "screen backlightlight on" problems, the "light" button next to the volume control mostly does nothing except make a click noise but occasionally switches the screen backlight on, and the keyboard definitely has never exhibited a backlight, even in pitch darkness. Nothing in the manual that I can find; maybe its Friday and i need to have a rest.....

The keyboard should light up orange/red if you bought the M500. I cant seem to find a setting to turn the sensor on and off. It should be in the power settings menu.
Guest Larnsky Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I thought that buttong for the backlight did nothing until i actually waited for the backlight to go off before pressing it, and then it came on... but it does seem a pretty pointless button in all honesty. As for the keyboard the light sensor is at the back of the keyboard as described, mine doesn't come on often but when i was in a dark room it did light the keyboard up, once i started using the keyboard!!
Guest rickyburke Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 yeah its cool, try covering it with ur finger, then start typing.......light!

Its a pity it can't be remapped tho M
