Highest bitrate possible for mp4 video playback?

Hi,

I'm using Nero Recode 2 to rip some DVD's for playing back on my new iPod and C550 phone. Now I know what the highest bitrate is for mp4 movies on the iPod but I don't know what it is for the C550 - anyone have any ideas? Hopefully someone will be able to save me spending hours doing encoding experiments ;)

On the C550 I'm using TCPMP to play the movies back and generally not much else will be running at the same time.

Then in theory I'll be able to put the same mp4 file onto either the iPod or the phone depending on which is more convenient.....

I'm not sure what the maximum bit rate on the C550 but I'm getting good video playback using DIVX and MP3.

What audio/video codecs are you using for the ipod ?

Have you tried playing any of the official iPod video downloads on the C550 ?
