Guest barrowfordred Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 If I wish to manually dial a phone whos number isn't in my contacts I'm unable to because when I press the green call button nothing happens. Also pressing the green call button to access previous calls also has ne effect. I've turned the phone on and off but still the same. Any ideas??

I'll take it apart again and look, the screen needs cleaning AGAIN anyway.

Guest barrowfordred Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Same happened to mine so I just pressed it a few time really hard, and now its working again most of the time.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I took mine apart last night and cleaned it, still the same. Tapping the key hard sometimes has an effect, then the next time I use it the key doesn't work. It's seems to me to be a bad connection somewhere. There's a ribbon cable behind the key and it's difficult to get to the back of the key.

Failing that, might have to go into repair

Guest BanziBarn Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Is there any resistance to your presses? Does the button 'pop' back when pressed? Richard <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Feels totally normal, just doesn't work...
Guest fluffcat1 Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Feels totally normal, just doesn't work... Oh, was hoping it didn't as could've helped you with that :-( possibly a crack in the ribbon then or a loose connection? The ribbon connects near the sim gate to the right looking at the back panel, try pushing it down further into the board, or flicking it off and putting it back in place. If it's under warranty then a repair might be your best bet. Richard
Guest Fred_ Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Mine's the same. I didn't notice for ages. You can dial a number though - press the "menu" button and select option 2.

Prob still get it fixed though.
Guest barrowfordred Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 This problem seems to be down to the fact that the green button is the least used button on the keypad. If I keep trying it, eventually it worked and now I press it every day just to keep it working. It's probably bad contacts due to the lack of use. If you dial a number you usually use a number from contacts. You don't even need to use the green button to answer a call.
Guest waltergilbert Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Mines stopped working too! This sounds like a common problem with the C500 along with a host of other things did sending it off for repair work? did they fix it for free....give you a new phone?
