syncing to sp5

Recommended Posts

hi

I know this is not strictly a SP5 question but its what I'm using in this case.

I've about a gig of music in media player 10 and want to sync with my SP5 (I have a gig card) All my music on the PC is between 128 and 196 kbps and I was wondering if there's someway I can make my phone/ PC sync my music but reduce the bitrate (to say 64kbps) while its doing it thus saving a load of room !

am I asking for too much ?

appreciate any help on the topic or even a definate NO! so I can stop wondering!

cheers

As far as i know you will need to manually re-encode all the music. There's several utilities that will do it in a batch job for you.

On another note, you might like to try this too:

http://www.aspecto-software.com/WiFiTunes/WiFiTunes.htm

It streams music from any iTunes library (any iTunes running on some computer) on your network over WiFi. Seems alot of people use it to listen to music on iTunes computers in unprotected WiFi lan's too.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Just found out how to do this thanks to someone on MS MP newsgroup.

Connect your smartphone to PC and let it sync.

In media player goto tools -> options -> devices

Highlight your device (or devices storage card !) and click properties

in here there's a quality tab where you can set it to whatever !

1st sync took a while but after this it should be fine.

Role on 4GB mini-sd cards !!
