The best thing to do is to upgrade the phone with one of the ROM's available on the net. You will also have to download the installer from Motorola as well. There is a way to get the chinese ROM to display english. Hit the top left key (start) then 8 (settings) then 9 (more) then 6 (regional settings). The top entry box is for language. Scroll though until you find english then select it, then hit the top left key again (done) . That will get the phone to display in english and then you can change the ROM.
