1GB Card, Not Enough Free Space

I've installed a 1GB storage card in a Cingular 2125. It pretty much works fine except the phone freezes when trying to transfer more than a few windows media files to it... aside from that, when I download emails they are not going to the storage card but are going to internal phone memory. I do not see a setting that lets me change that.

Any ideas on either the freezing or the storage?
