Guest fluffcat1 Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Hello, just seen this in the orange shop in York. 1 left there... Richard
Guest xspyda Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Anyone seen this anywhere else? Tempted to get one as a backup for my trusty c500 as I can't see me wanting to change this phone in a loooong time! I have tried the M500 / M5000 and Qtek 9100 as a replacement and for ease of use and convenience, the c500 is streets ahead of any of them!
Guest BanziBarn Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 How come they are so cheap? I paid 140 but even that is miles less than the QTEC or Imate equivalents. I didn't think PAYG phones were subsidised?
Guest CPF Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 67 quid inc P+P (locked to orange but that's easily solved). Where I hear you ask? eBay ;-) brand new condition, fella had a play with it quickly and then sold it, screen and IR Port protectors still in place. Are orange planning to discontinue c500?
Guest fluffcat1 Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) How come they are so cheap? I paid 140 but even that is miles less than the QTEC or Imate equivalents. I didn't think PAYG phones were subsidised? Yes they are, hence most being sim locked. Just take the motorola rokr e1 - payg £99.99 some places, sim free £179... edit - as an aside, the new rokr e2 no longer uses itunes. Get those e1's while you can eh?.... Are orange planning to discontinue c500? Happened ages ago didn't it? Only available while stocks last on the flashcard under the phone in the shop, not available PAYG online for months now. And the c600's out. Allegedly. Richard Edited January 6, 2006 by fluffcat1
Guest rodg98133 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I got my C500 off ebay for £40. Brand new condition, boxed and with a 64mb mini card. Bargain
Guest Dark Horse Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 The really good thing is that some of the Orange Shop staff are about as bright as a bin liner. I got mine for 70 quid with trade-in after the bloke mistakenly rang up 80 quid and then knocked off a tenner for the old moby. Not only that, he didn't even bother to switch it on to check if it works so despite them saying it must work, try your chances with any old moby. You get £1 free credit with the C500 with the usual stuff, 16MB card, USB cable, charger, battery and all the manuals. Given that Orange are clearing the shelves to push the decidely dubious C600, its likely that the C550 will be next in the firing line. Regards, Dark Horse
