Hello-

I've been lurking on this forum for a while, but now have a problem I could use some help with. I have a 1GB mini SD card from Patriot Memory with lots of MP3's on it... when I try to listen to them on my phone, Windows Media Player just stops after about a song and a half. I can then click back on the WMP icon, and it will start back up where it left off. Most of my songs are at 192kb, so could that be an issue? I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks in advance for any help!

Do you have a smaller card to try it with? And what is the data read/write speed of the card you have? Only similar thing I had was the lag when browsing a cheap 512mb for photos compared to a fast kingston one in a c500. What if you remove most of the files and just leave 1 or 2 songs?

Well, after some experimentation, I believe I have a solution. It appears that with my setup, if I copy songs onto the card "The Easy Way" by putting the card into a card reader and using windows explorer to copy them onto the card, the phone will have a problem playing them. If I do it "The Hard Way" by using WM10 on my PC to build a playlist, then sync it to the phone, it will work, even with a large amount of files. Doing it that way limits the bitrate to 192k, which most of my files are, but some are larger. It also takes FOR EVER, so I've been doing the syncing overnight.

There are some files that need to be "converted" when transferred to and from the smartphone. Don't know if mp3 is maybe one of the types.

I have a 512Kb card from Moby Memory that works fine, its always almost full and plays normal (unconverted) .mp3's from 128 to 320 bit rate. Never get a problem.

For the purposes of archiving on this board, I thought I'd share my final resolution of my problem here. After spending several more days loading songs by syncing them through my desktop Windows Media Player and spending way more time then I wanted too, I still experienced the original symptoms. I could only play one song, then the next song would stop about 2 minutes in. I tried it as many ways as I could, and it wouldn't get past the 2nd song. I was about to give up, but instead I tried the free "TCPMP - The Core Pocket Media Player." It works like a charm, and even lets me build playlists on the phone unlike WMP10. Anyway, apparenly Patriot Memory 1GB mini-SD cards are not compatible with WMP10, but if you are willing to go with an alternative media player, there are options. Good luck.
