I'm still looking for one of these that works with the SPV 550, without having to power off.

Anyone got one confirmed working for the 550 without power off?

Hi,

The best i've got to so far is as in my earlier post in this thread, Both the C500 & C600 work using the Flight mode metho - approx 30 sec changeover, no shutdown & reboot.. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work in the C550.

Haven't found one yet that gives menu functions.

PotatoHead, do you know if these ghost sims work with USIM cards? I've notice on a couple of sites that they say they are not suitable for this. Is there any reason why not?

Cheers,

virdirs.

No they don't because USIM's have a completely different structure. They also force a PPS procedure to communicate at much higher speeds. A USIM dual sim (where you physically connect both sims to some adapter) is possible but would require them to recode the software in the MCU on the 'dual sim' adapter.

As for 'milti sim' which is a different concept and involves cloning your sim cards, these definately won't work on USIM cards beacause they don't use COMP128.

True,

Ive played with a few and have yet succeeded to get a USIM to work via dual adaptor in a non-USIM phone.

Most Uk Sims dont use Comp 128 v1... only cheap eastern sims use this (original enlightenment courtesy of KAM). I came unstuck trying to clone my UK SIMs most of which use either Comp 128 v2 or ki counters which make cloning impossible and you end up toasting the original sim. even got hold of a burner for tweaking eprom on blank chips but didnt succeed with single chip twin sims. I think the only way forward would be a physical switch (like the old dual sims) but with a form factor thats not too cumbersome tha could accomodate both architectures.... any thoughts anyone??

NB: if you own uk sim cards...don't buy a multi sim off ebay or anywhere. you WILL toast your sim and uk networks charge at least a tenner forf a new one..... :)

.... my god... how rubbish was my spelling....!?

I'm awaiting an email reply from m-99 about availability. Has anyone had success with other solutions recently ?

I ordered a 1400mAh battery for my SP5 from there.. I didn't hear anything for a while so i emailed.

I emailed again a few days later.

The next day i got a 8010 750mAH battery through the post. No invoice, nothing. It looked like he got sick of me emailing and popped it into a jiffy bag that day.

I emailed again, and got no reply. I have to contact my bank now for a chargeback.. i wouldn't order anything from these guys if i were you.
