Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Eagle eyed forum members fluffcat1/RufusA spotted that the MDSP150 Sat Nav Smartphone is available HERE on the Medion site for a bargain £150 SIM free! A rebadged MiTAC 8870 (also known as the Sagem My-S7), the Medion Smartphone doesn't feature Bluetooth or the latest Windows Mobile 5, but it does have a speedy Intel processor and a pleasant Candy Bar form factor. Your £150 gets you... - Smartphone - UK map material - 256MB MMC Memory Card - GPS receiver with connection cable - Car holder - USB synchronisation cable - Power supply - 12V car charger - High performance Li-Ion battery At 150 quid for a Sat Nav solution that includes a Smartphone, that's got to be a bargain right? :) P Original post: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=234453
Guest Dr Who Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Mmmmm, thats well tempting. I want a little sat nav system as well.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 And this phone has an 8way control pad :) (or it did when I first played with one back in 2004)
Guest hecatae Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 (edited) One of the only Windows Mobile 2003SE phones with MMC/SD support if I recall correctly, might work fine with a WIFI SD. Just hunted down the GPS package, it retails for £89.99 cd only and £239.99 as a package. https://www.navigon.com/site/uk/en/shop/consumer/smartPhone correction, will work fine with a wifi sd: http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=2415 Socket recently (according to their website they did on 05.05.) released a first version of its Windows Mobile Smartphone compatible SDIO W-LAN card driver. However, according to the file description, the driver is designed to work with the Sagem myS-7 Smartphone, http://www.socketcom.com/support/support_wlan.asp?Type=SDIO Edited February 6, 2006 by hecatae

Guest Pondrew Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 @jimwar, did you enter the settings for your network in Start / Settings / Data Connections? If you need the settings they're in the Smartphone Settings Repository section. Follow this link here
Guest MadStu Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 cant get any to work <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am in exactly the same position with this phone.Everything works except the internet connection <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi both, I bought the phone a couple of weeks ago. I already had a pay as you go phone with Orange and tried setting it up with all the settings I found on the internet and calls to their support centre, but no luck, couldn't get it working at all. I spent about 2 days on it. Then I found this website and this forum tpoic in particular: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=235550 So I went out and bought a virgin sim card for £10 (comes with £5 credit) and then follwed the instructions in the forum post. 5 minutes later I was surfing the net, chatting on MSN and retreiving my email! AWESOME! Stu ;)
