hi all, just got my m5000 today but in the manual it does not mention initial battery charge times...

any idea how long it should be? I started charging it but I will either have to stop in 11 hrs time or leave it for 24 hrs!

cheers!

It is questionable as to whether a long initial charge is actually beneficial or not. Overcharging however could potentially cause damage, so I'd take it off after 11 hours.

Bit of a myth really, the control circuitry wont let the battery become 'over-charged', Li-ion batterys like to be kept topped up so if you can get away with it keep your device plugged in whenever possible, I would say 11hours is enough tho, 24hours wouldnt do it any harm.

Apparently if a LiIon battery overcharges it will burst into flames!

However as mentioned above the batteries are designed to not let this happen, a long initial charge is just to ensure all cells are fully charged to give you the maximum possible performance...
