Guest rowly Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Recently had trouble with my mini sd card where I am unable to access its contents, although the memory section in Settings is showing my memory card as almost full (which it is). Is this a virus, glitch or something else. I'm guessing an antivirus may sort it. Will it? Where can I download some? Any one know?
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Why do you assume a virus? AFAIK there is only one PPC virus ("Dust") and I've never seen it myself. I'd say it's more likely that your card is dying or generally "not happy" Have you tried reading it in a card reader on your PC? I'd start by copying the contents off, reformating the card in the device, then copying the data back onto it. What sort of device do you have?
Guest rowly Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 I got a QTek 9100. Never had a prob before with the card but when I accessed it, it had just one file something like msg.inbox. which was empty...strange! I've tried to view through ActiveSync but no luck, it now appears that there are no files to view, but again it appears to be full. Will try the card reader,b tu likely to get the same result I guess. Failing that a new card!!!
Guest pookiecheeks Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 hello all, not sure why i did, but i purchased airscanner's mobile security bundle. in another thread i'm told pocketpc's aren't as yet affected by viruses. i'm not sure how true that is, or for how long that will be the case, but i went ahead and made a purchase anyway. the bundle includes antivirus, firewall and an encryption program, but each program is also available seperately. hope you solve your problems and that i was of some help to you. airscanner website pookiecheeks
