I am pleased to present my first CAB homescreen installer for QVGA phones!! I have tested it thoroughly on my WM2003 C550 & it has been successful every time! However, clearly I cannot be held responsible for anything slighlty unpleasant that may result from installing cab files! As far as I know it will install fine on WM5 devices, but the xml may need to be edited to show the correct image paths - if anyone is game enough to test it I will create a seperate cab for WM5 if this one doesn't work! All the phones screens are skinned, including start menu, contacts, info, error, alert, volume, dial screens etc. The theme is based on the most beautiful 5imple windowblinds theme by DanilloOc. Full credit for the original graphics goes to him, & many thanks for his kind permission in reproducing them (see readme.txt in installed folder). You can see more of his work HERE. You will need to install facade, smartmonitor & calendar plugins ... smartmonitor - http://www.ferrandez.plus.com/SmartMonitor/ calendar - http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=dscrip...etails&f_id=397 As usual I recommend installing the plugins first, then the homescreen cab & install everything to the phone not storage card (they're only tiny files!). The cab will install 2 xml files - DrBlow5imple.home.xml - is for phones that have the ORANGE shortcuts plugin DrBlow5impleB.home.xml - is for all other QVGA devices The default is to install the orange version, so if you do not have that plugin then you will need to manually change the homescreen to the B version after installation. Everyone will need to reboot in order to load the start menu background (& maybe a few others!) Any problems then let me know. Enjoy! View File Edited March 3, 2006 by drblow

As Jamma14 has said, if you want you can download the trial version & check it out for I think 12 days before buying, but I bet you will end up buying it once you have used it. ;)

I assume you meant "How long is it since sbsh first started charging for facade?" but "how long has facade costed" just doesn't sound right to me...sorry just me being pedantic as usual. :roll: Wasn't trying to have a go at you or anything ;)

Guest wease Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 No Windows 2003. I am using a Qtek 8300. If I use the facade default screen I see all selected icons but if I use DrBlow5impleB.home.xml when I highlight my apps I just see red x's for my icons.

Guest wease Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Yes, I see them. In Application Data/Home/5imple/ there are many tga files including the ialarm ones. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing happens, but if I change the Homescreen to the facade one all my launcher icons are there.

It should read simply "\Application Data\Home\" It should work then! Good luck!

Otherwise it worked absolutely fine. My version of facade works fine. I wasn't aware the beta had been completed and was now being charged for.Perhaps I should upgrade but the one installed is great anyway. Still. Good work deserves support I suppose. Drblow. any chance of converting your other them to QVGA, The alpha one I think. I tried to alter it but I couldn't quite get all the positioning right on the main screen and I don't know how to do start up & shutdown screens.

There is no chance whatsoever of me doing QVGA versions of previosu themes - far too much work!! But by all means edit them as much as like for your own purposes. ;)

I'm having the same problem with the red x's. Cingular 2125, QVGA, WM 5.0. Any fix yet?
Guest drblow Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 My xml is coded for WM2003 - have you removed all reference to Storage in the image paths as it is not necessary for WM5 devices? Especialy check the path for skin="" in the facade global settings. Thats the path for the images where you are getting the red x's.

Im now using this as my main homescreen from now on, as it is so useful, i made some rubbish startup and shutdown screens to complete the set ;). I upgraded to WM5 C600 and I can definetly say it works very well without x's. Well Done Sam
