Pocket Hack Master, Pocket Mechanic Professional, Pocket Mechanic Lite and Virtual Explorer (http://www.antontomov.com) fully support 240x240, 480x480 as well as VGA and QVGA (both landscape and portrait) as well.

Can anyone recommend any emulators that play nice with 240 x 240 devices ? I've got pocket nes to work on my hw6910 along with nethack, I'd really like to find a doom port and a snes emulator that work too.

I'm after a spectrum emulator that runs correctly, FUSESP's screen is offset too low and you miss part of the bottom of the screen and pocketclive's menu's are inaccessible as they are off the bottom of the screen. I've got an Ipaq6915.
