Guest markdotpeters5 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Me too. Doesn't stop me wanting a PS3 too though. Would be nice to play Blu-Ray movies on my spanky new HDTV too ;)
Guest genaldar Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Or if you consider the actual important side of a games console, you'll get the one that plays the games you actually want to play. For me, PS3 (GTA4 and MGS4, not to mention FF13+). Just need to find 500 quid from somewhere, oh, and a HD telly... ;) GTA4 isn't a Sony exclusive (it never was actually). MGS4 and FF13 are both PS3 only (as of now) but there is no reason the FF series couldn't switch to MS, or back to Nintendo. They will move to whichever system has the largest install base. I would get a 360. Right now there are a couple of games I want for it (actually just 3). But there are no ps3 games I want (that are actually out). I am glad my brother got a Wii and put it in the livingroom, since its the most fun of the three. Edited March 19, 2007 by genaldar
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Well you've just proven my point. You have a XBox 360 for the games, i want a PS3 for the games. PS3 will definately play the games i want (and to be fair, Sony has had the MGS and FF series for years...). If they were available on XB360 i'd get that instead!
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 They are both way too expensive for me so I'll stick with my DSlite ;)
Guest peekie Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Having seen a playstation 3 in the flesh i have to say its dam ugly and a huge box as well , cant see me getting one unless i want a cheap blueray player , seeing all the hype over this machine iam very disapointed ( its like buying a spv e200 with wm6 :D ) , looks like the rest of the world agree as the wii is way outselling it and the good old ds lite is still outselling the old psp , i think too little and too late ;)
Guest declank Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 (edited) My real gripe is both can't stream XVID content from a network drive. They are very capable of doing so. But the MS and Sony bods block it off so they can make more money in their other pies. Whoever hacks either to do this I will buy. PS3 can run Linux from the PS3 menu. Could be interesting. http://ps3.qj.net/PS3-Linux-The-void-has-b...pg/49/aid/73144 Edited March 21, 2007 by declank
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 I wouldn't have minded spending 500 quid on a PS3 if i'd been here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6482789.stm !
