Guest Twilight.Cruiser Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Sorry, stupid of me.Yeah, U're right! Almost colonel of the sweedish army there :)Don't be so cheekily, soldier, or U've to crawl through the mud and dirt for free...! :D :P But in earnest, if U look through this thread, U'll find very much information how to unlock your device, and that's the whole trick. And why others should do the work to describe how to unlock and install your device again 'n again, only because you're too lazy to search this thread? :D
Guest agent.m Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 this prog is off the chain for me. sorted my problems when using my 2gb mini sd :)

Guest Pop2k Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Just wanted to thank you. Been using this app since it's first release and still do so, on a daily basis. Without it, my Tornado would've been a silent fart at best. :) Thanks man, much appreciate your work. :D

Guest Swordsman74 Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Awesome application - many thanks to the author!! It works flawlessly on my Samsung i730... Question: Are there any plans to make a today screen plugin for this? Something that could both display the status and also activate/deactivate would be sweet... Thanks again!
Guest Swordsman74 Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 I wanted to pass along a tidbit I figured out... I leave my phone plugged in via USB for the entire day at work running WM5torage. In the "Pictures & Videos" application, I have activated the screensaver functionality. However, the screensaver will not launch if you plug the device in while WM5torage is already activated. It will launch just fine if you connect via Activesync, though... I figured out that if you always connect and let Activesync do its thing first - then activate WM5torage, the screensaver will behave properly and launch after the allotted time. It's entirely possible no one else does this or cares about the screensaver, but there's a slim chance someone might find this useful... :-)
Guest Ingvarr Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 Since WM5torage supports command-line switches, you may use any today screen software that let you attach shortcuts to buttons - you just make shortcuts that call WM5torage with the needed command line options. When activated and attached to PC, WM5torage prevents device from going to sleep. This is to prevent device from switching off and cutting the file operations in progress.
Guest michel24 Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Hi Sorry if this as already been posted, but i don't think, and since it took me a lot of time to find : to make the spv c700 work with wm5torage, you have to download the usbkiller.cab, and change the usb in your smartphone from RNDIS to serial. then wm5torage then works on windows (and also missing sync works better on mac, and you can use active sync with virtual pc on mac) but still not working simply as a usb storage on mac (this is just fixing a particular bug on the C700 it seems) mich
Guest bjarkedj Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 How do I install wm5torage? Its kind off new to me, this smartphone-thing...

Guest CXM_PREMED Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Hello Everyone, I wanted to first say I really like this program and I have a Cingular 8525 / hermes and for some god awful reason Bill forgot to put a storage capability on the WM5 operating system natively. As well, us and others over at www.howardforums.com would like you to work on a fix for the app to work on our phones. I am gathering people up now to prepare to give you a nice donation once the app is complete. I would say about 10 bucks per person. Hopefully you can get like 100+ people. Please let us know if you can get us updates or what not. Thanks.
Guest Ingvarr Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 As I said before, I cant promise anything. So I doubt I am in position of accepting any donations for it. First, I need a Hermes to work on. Second, even if I would have a Hermes, I cant be sure that it can be done here, as it heavely depends on USB chipset drivers, and if drivers made in "bad" way, I can do absolutely nothing about it. Techically its a responsibility of device developers - they have drivers source code and such. Sadly, many of them choose to ignore the proper specifications and employ the crude hacks that confine possible range of USB protocols only to ActiveSync and modem that they originally hacked it for.

Could we get you files or what have you? as well is there anything that we could get from HTC??? let me know I will help anyway possible.
Guest Ingvarr Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 For starters, a lot of people with Hermes use WM5torage just fine. They just disable "advanced usb connection" in settings or something like that. Granted, that does not work for everybody, but maybe just some other quirk that just has to be figured out. The only thing we need from HTC is the full USB Function driver compliance with Microsoft specifications, and not just in part that is needed for Activesync & Modem. Devices that have drivers properly made have no problems with WM5torage. Of what can be done or must be done with WM5torage for smooth operation on Hermes in its current state, I have no idea. As I said, I have no Hermes, and you can not debug complex drivers without having the device sitting on the table connected to your PC.
