It some ways it's not required, i.e. we have Today plug-ins whereas the Smartphone needs skins to do any today screen stuff. This part of the board doesn't get a lot of traffic. WRT remapping key codes, try the software development section, though I wouldn't get your hopes up. Ideally looking for something that allows mapping lots of commands to the 5 available buttons by way of; single press, multi press (e.g. 2 or 3 times in short succession), hold,and button combinations.
