Cannot Connect To Computer via USB

hi all,

i have a cingular audiovox smt5600 phone ...

lately, i am not able to connect to my computer using the usb cable ...

the phone is simply not detected ... when i connect the phone to the computer, it lights up but is not detected at all by the cmputer or activesync...i tried different usb cables and a different computer too ... but to no avail ....

i also tried resetting the device (soft reset)

can anyone help me on this one !!!!!!

but the problem here is that my phone is not even getting detected over the usb port ...

any idea why ??

faulty rom ? usb socks ?
