Guest jutley Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Ok here is another tip for all you tomtom 5.20 users if you want to improve tomtom loading times and faster smoothe scroling in tomtom use imap overclock look around for it activate it make sure your phone is fully app unlocked with the sda unlocker or you will just get a error once installed fire it up set the overclock utility at 253mhz this is the maximum stable for spv c600 without any crashes or freezing hope this helps and also a tip allways keep less poi enables this really speeds up tom tom only try to use speed cameras.
Guest jutley Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 ok yet another tip download the speed camera database only use the bmp files grab them all copy and paste them into the great britain folder or what ever map you have and paste them into there fire up tomtom and enable them in your poi then go to warn when near poi in tomtom and then select each speed camera set the distance warning and then the warning sound repeat this process for all the speed cameras once done hit the motorway and test it out quite impresive speed camera system.
Guest witchnut Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 (edited) My C600 is running TTM 5, which I updated to 5.2 to run on the 320x240 screen. Tom Tom works perfectly! However I'm getting an "Access Denied" problem running the built-in camera app and followed the process here on Modaco to application unlock the phone using a tool I got from Orange Developers, and its now running as "security disabled". but still gives the "Access denied" message and freezes when I try to run the camera. I don't know whether its relevant but when trying to run Orange Register (also as part of the unlocking process), the screen doesn't stay open long enough to type anything in before it closes again. Please suggest some things to try. Matt Edited May 2, 2006 by witchnut

Guest jutley Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 Download the last version of SPV-Service client from here. Extract all the files from archive to some folder on the PC and run SPVServices.exe (press OK on the phone when it ask to install TyphoonNBFTools.dll). Click 'CID Tool (Alpha)' on the left and press [set CID = 11111111] on the right. Wait untill it's done.
Guest jutley Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Ok here is another possible way to keep your orange rom on your spv c600 etc using tomtom 5.20 with AKU2 with this rom tomtom 5.20 doesnt work properly bluetoothe problems etc freezing problems etc all you need to do is actually app unlock your new aku2 update by emailing orange developers you can find the email address on the first page of this site once you have managed to app unlock the aku2 update on your phone tomtom 5.20 should start behaving normaly as before before the aku2 update i havent tested this so if someone can test this and post the outcome here would be gratfull it will save flashing the phone with the imate sp5 rom goodluck.
Guest jutley Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 ok i can confirm that you can flash back your original AKU2 orange rom back on to your phone if you have updated to the imate sp5 rom AKU2 i have succesfully done this today with no problems just download the orange AKU2 rom update and flash phone i had to do this due to endlest gprs problems with the imate sp5 rom i have succesfully enableb push email aswell using a free email account with mail2web.com its brilliant all is working fine i will post a guide soon how to set this up step by step i just now need to test tomtom 5.20 is working fine which i will post the results soon after testing.

Guest B!ackhawk Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Hi I have downloaded RegeditSTG use activesync to move the file onto my phone not storage card not sure if it matter where on the phone unzipped it using the unzipping tool on the phone then when i click the exe it has unzipped nothing happens all i get is the silly msg Acces denied the program cannot start because it si not digitally signed with a trusted certificate so cannot edit the phone at all I have tried to use the software on orangedev to unlock phone but does not work I am trying to app unlock the phone & what ever else i need to do so i can use tomtom 5.2 and add any apps i may find useful
Guest jutley Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 what phone are you trying to app unlock is it on orange and does it have aku2 update on it
Guest jutley Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 the phone you are trying to app unlock may have the aku2 update on it this means it cannot be app unlocked using the old registry editor your going to have to contact orange developers the email link is on the first page of this topic find it and email them requesting the app unlock utility for your phone you will have to provide them with a little info then they will send you the app unlock utility percific for your imie number simply run the exe file they send you and disable security.
Guest B!ackhawk Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) I have an orange c600 have sent 3 emails to orange devs giving phone number & IMEI number make model & my name & no reply How would i know if it has aku2 on it Edited May 13, 2006 by B!ackhawk
Guest jutley Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 check the orange update site where you can download the aku2 update and look at the veshion number and see if it matches the one on your device and orange developers you have to make it clear to them that you are a developer.
Guest jutley Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 remember when your aku2 orange spv c600 has been sucesfully app unlocked tomtom 5.20 will start behaving properly ie bluetoothe and no freezing.
Guest Amit Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 remember when your aku2 orange spv c600 has been sucesfully app unlocked tomtom 5.20 will start behaving properly ie bluetoothe and no freezing. For tomtom to work correctly, do you only have to application unlock the phone, or do you need to install the SP5 rom too? I have just downloaded the imate rom (sp5_wwe_2.5.331.2.zip) and it wont install on my phone. In the process it has naffed it. It is now stock on an red green and blue stripped screen. Amit
Guest pzorb Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 If you're a legitimate TomTom customer they do not honour your licence if you flash your ROM - Beware! http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/martingibson/en...omtom_mobile_5/

Randomly bombs out of the app during journeys. Amit
Guest abit late Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I have a C600 and stupidly flashed the new ROM. Having the same problems as others with TomTom, i.e. I have to start bluetooth manually and then start TomTom. Also there is no shortcut to the TomTom app in my start menu. I have now received an IMEI specific unlocking tool from the Orange Developers. It sucessfully disabled security but TomTom still doesn't work properly. I can't seem to find SDA Unlocker or any info about this. Do I need to run this and/or SPV-Services.exe as well as disabling security which I have already done? Thanks Al

Thanks Al I have got as far as getting my security disabled and installing the Modaco modified rom. TomTom appears to work but I dont know if its any better.. I need to go on a journey to see if it bombs out. I managed to get SDA Unlocker, but even after disabling the security, I was un able to run it. It said this phone is unlockable. I also still cant get SPV-Services to run getting a Rapi Init failed error - client dll not found. If I manage to get any further.. I will let you know. What we need is a proper detailed step by step guide with links to actual files and apps that need to be installed. There are so many versions and different tools and different posts, its impossible to know what you need to do to get this party started. Amit
