Guest M1DUL Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 On my Orange SPV M5000 when I am in 3G Coverage mode I get a 3G icon instead of a U Icon is there a way I could change that? I have also noticed that before the the Pocket PC gets to install the Orange Rom items there is a U Icon on in the middle of the top of the screen - but later on it goes back to a 3G Icon. One test I did was a Reset before it got to install the Orange items then the Icon stayed as a U icon. I noticed that there was more unused Memory available on the Device as well. After doing all this I noticed that there is now no way that I can do Video calls or MMS because the applications are not installed. The MMS Folder was not in Messaging even though I entered all the GPRS/MMS settings and before you make a call the Video function was gone as well. Has anyone found a similar problems with their device? If so how did you get the MMS Folder/Video call back without the Orange stuff. Many Thanks for any Help Regards Michael
Guest Confucious Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 Why do you want to change it? The new ROM changes the icon to 3G from U presumeably because to many people were asking what U was! It is an icon, 3G is the same as U - what is the problem?

Guest Confucious Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 Like I say, I believe its a feature of the ROM, the new O2 ROM still shows U. I doubt if ther is an easy way of changing it, but you never know, it might just be a registry tweek in which case I'm sure someone will find a hack!

Thanks for the Info Confucious So you have a O2 HTC Universal Do you? Why I ask is that the O2 Rom does not install on a Orange SPV M5000.
Guest Confucious Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 Yes, I have an O2 Exec. But if you want to put the O2 ROM on your M5000 I sugest you check out xda developers.
