skinable is a great idea the wifes just getting to grips with hit but thinks it is a bit macho so she'll love that idea,

one thing i cant seam to stop on her mpx 220 is beams keeps re engaging its self any one else have this or know why I switch it it off for her every second day.

My wife-to-be also thought it was a bit macho and was the one who suggested a more 'femine' background for the girls. It's a short step from there to 'whatever background u want' :-)

Hi Ifor,

Maybe you could include a service which tells us what manufacturer the device is. I found a piece of free software which scans all devices and tells you who the manufacturer is:

Hi Guys,

New Beta (0.9.101) has just been sent out! We are almost there. This is the second-to-last beta!

This Beta is now skinnable. There is a new utilities menu. On there you will see an option to 'choose skin'

There are about 5 ot 6 of them, the names should be obvious (skins for qvga end in ....QVGA!)

The last beta will have the Send Snipe option enabled, currently it does nothing. Conan_troutman, hopefully there is a more girlie skin on the way very shortly (thanks Victor!)

can you make the revievedfiles filder currently located in the installation folder under programs to be put into my Documents on the Storage card please

My wife God bless her went in search of some incoming when sniper told her where it was being saved and guess what She didnt like all the other stuff in there so she deleted it not just sniper but every god damn program on the Firkin phone

so please install this folder some where safer please

and once again please dont over look the autostart hidden mode PLEASE!

1. Hidden mode will be in there IF I can make it work properly. If not it will be in a 1.1 release. But I will try mate.

2. No comment on the skins feature? I slave all day and all i get is complaints ... *sigh* ... ;-)

Also, I think [putting the recived files in the My Documents folder is a good idea ;-)

Final point I forgot to mention. The skins are just JPEGS, so people can make their own skins, drop them in the Skins folder and hey presto :-)

So I say: I really like the skin feature, BUT the way how the error handling when multiple skins are selected looks is lets say not perfect.

Why let users choose more then one skin when its not possible. You should better prohibit selecting more than one skin at a time then presenting the user a error message telling him that he can only select one skin at a time. know what i mean? :)

mini_man has already berated me for the, shall we say, un-user-friendly way of choosing skins. You guys are *never* happy.

Here ya go, portrait and landscape (running on WM2003 PPC). The skin looks blocky cos I don't have a VGA skin, so u are seeing the QVGA one scaled up to fit.

Hi guys,

Quick release to enhance the Skin chooser (0.9.104). After numerous complaints ;-) about the user friendliness I have enhanced it make it friendlier.

Go to Options->Choose Skin. Then use the left and right keys to cycle through the available skins. QVGA & standard version of the same skins will look quite similar so beware.

I am still planning to relase the final Beta tommorow afternoon (US time).

didnt get chance to try the skinning feature properly it was after ten when i got the email and i needed to to be in bed to get my lazy ass up at this stupid time.

tired it it looks good would how ever prefer to have one image for the start/inbox and another for the scanning page that way its a clear definition between the two with out having to rely on the soft keys also the scanning page should scan automatically when you choose it

and may be an option to have it switch to that page to scan and send at regular intervals when you select the bluejack option

as for appriciation I think you'll see my appriciation in hard cash when its done mate but no hard feeling for now or i 'll have to spoil Dr Who for you ok

Have tried 3/4 betas with no difference. Just tells me that it is not a valid Windows CE Setup file.

I think it may be a problem my end cos no1 else appears to have had any probs.

I do just drag the CAB file over to device after first unzipping it, don't I ?

Hi Shanedean, I'll send you a PCocketPC specific cab, maybe that is the issue. Although I have installed on quite a few PPCs no probs.

Heh heh, please don't! Onle a few days to the Season finale over here, all I know is that the Daleks are coming! Quite a few of them from the looks of it ;-)

Noticed that Registration feature actually provides you with a unique code now :) ! Trying to keep that on the low down were you Ifor :D ? lol

Another thing that may be to do with the hide feature; if you have Sniper open and you press Home button, how do you get back into Sniper? I have to kill the process in SP Task Manager and relaunch - sometimes requries a phone reboot.

Hi James,

Some of the testers have girlfriends/wives who are trying Sniper, some of them have noted that Sniper is a little Macho. Just trying to appeal to the widest audience ;-)

On that note, I've made no secret of the fact that Sniper is going to be a commercial product when released. It won't be expensive (probably just over a fiver, in pounds, but I'd like some return for all my hard work.

Finally, if you'd pressed the home key there are several ways to get back to Sniper. There should be an Icon on the home screen for each running progra. You can select the Sniper one and you should be back in. If you can't find that, go to

Start->Resource Management->Task Manager-> and select Sniper this should get u back to it.
