Guest Noo Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 hi peeps, Topic pretty much says it all. I thought there was an existing topic on someone having done this, bout can't find it. So, at work each day I ActiveSync with my Vario in a cradle, which blocks the headphones port. Is there any way to play the music on my PC's WMP but having the music actually on my Vario's miniSD card, as I also don't want to start putting my music on my work PC. The Alternative is that I take a drill to the cradle and make the headphone port accessible... :) Cheers for any help.
Guest Madeye Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 This probably isn't the perfect solution for you as you can't actually sync and play music at the same time but... you could install WM5torage and play your music straight off the storage card. The phone will still charge too, just won't be activesync'd at the same time! http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=dscrip...tails&f_id=1702
Guest Tech Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 (edited) interesting, wonder if I could integrate something into my WMP Remote control app.... you probably could. try this: I have no idea how WM5 storage works but if it assigns a drive letter, you are sorted! download and install my WMP Remote control for both PC and mobile device (http://www.spapps.co.uk/software.aspx) on the server app, do the normal configuration and then select the drive letter mapped to the mobile device via wm5storage connect to the server via the WMP Remote client and then just request for files, which hopefully the Server will send since the media directory will be pointing to your mobile device and play! you can also connect via bluetooth/wireless as well as the standard USB cable I am unsure if WM5remote connects only via usb? if not then great, 2 apps working together :) actually just read that you have to connect it via usb, so d'oh my lil solution won't work to allow you to control media playing remotely. Would be a good idea though! Edited June 2, 2006 by Tech
