Guest mattpayne
im using wi-fi companion on my m600 and while it shows my local network is 802.11g the max connection shown is 25mbts, clear line of sight and same room... same result with another 56mbit wireless network... is the card throttled or is wifi companion not showing the speed correctly? Guest Tech
I'm not sure if i understand it correctly but if I think I do then the wifi built into the smartphone PPC are of b not g (11MB) even if you have a 54MB network (g) the wireless card/wireless built into the device will always perform at b (11MB) since these devices have a b card. :) Edited June 27, 2006 by Tech
Guest
Smartphone and some PPC are B but the prophet (M600) is G. Not sure why you'd only be getting 25mbs. There is a option in the wifi setup for battery or performance (its a slider you can pull in either direction) Have you set that to performance? hth gR
Guest Tech
it could also be the channel broadcast range on the wireless router, if its too high then this would be the result, channel 7-9 should be ok. Give either a shot!
