Guest jimbouk Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I have just signed up for it. Orange World Browsing -
Guest MARKUKCOUK Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 that was my sentiment exactly. I'm just waiting for the handset to be released to upgrades now... I ducked out of the Smartphone/PPC race for a while as I went over to using a Moto V3 so am extra keen on getting what seems to be like the dogs doodas... heres to hoping. Yeah - though I know what will happen with me - I'll ring up to get the phone taken back, and to order the new one, only to be told its out of stock - despite one being in my ****in hand!
Guest Dr Who Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 And the saga continues. Just got through to retentions. The M3100 is now on their system. However when I asked about the unlimited data package he said it didn't exist. He said I could spend
Guest Saif Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Its on the upgrade system!?!?!? right - best get on the phone then...

Guest Dr Who Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 The Orange World Browsing package I signed up for is for users with 3g devices only I queried this exact thing and got the same answer back, "Its for WAP browsing only". He may have only been reading the T&C's offscreen, which wouldn't surprise me, but until I can see the terms online I think I will avoid this 'offer'. I know from experience that notes I have asked to be put on the account, for instance saying, "This OCS said that this offer means x", have mysteriously disappeared when I have been billed for something. Not trying to be the portent of doom, it just seems that everything is very confused on this offer at the moment.
Guest Saif Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Well... just got off the phone with retentions... They do indeed have the M3100 on their updrage system. And the Orange World Unlimited package does exist. It is for 3G phones on Panther or Premier contracts and is unlimited with a fair use policy. Its proper internet... Nice lady had to get it checked with her supervisor.. Didn't upgrade straight away... will be calling back Melanie later as she was so helpful... Don't miss out on this one! S
Guest Shaunfarris Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I've just got off the phone from 2 different people in the Data dept, both are saying after after a lot of searching for the unlimited package that it is for Panther or Premier customers only, and cannot apply it to any other pacakages, as she tried to apply it to my Racoon and the systems pops up an error saying Panther package only. Also both of them were very confused as to the actual limitations as it clearly states early in the T&C's that:- 1. It is applied to the Panther or Premier before 1st sept 2. Its is for 40 days only after which it reverts to Orange World 10 3. It remains at this level until the end of the contract term ie 12 or 18 months. I said does that mean its only 40days unlimited on top of the 3month unlimited 'Trial' then 10Mb for
Guest jimbouk Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Well I queried the 40 day issue and the OCS girl said - not it remains unlimited for the full 18 months...so considering how confused they are, if she is wrong, I would guess that those of us who have signed up for it will be able to argue being mis-sold!

A girl called Kate from OCS has actually read this info (gave her the link, and she phoned back while reading through it!), and is gonna get her manager to look into what the hell it is, who it applies to, and what is included. I'm completely lost now. Been told so many different things, but maybe if the managers can clarify it one way or the other, we'll get somewhere
Guest Saif Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 from what I can tell there is a discrepancy between the system where they add the bundles to accounts and the one which has their descriptions on it (their intranet). Therefore I think the descriptions they read are for the 'old' Access 10 deal which in June was unlimited for the first 40 days and then reverted to the 10MB/mth. I will be upgrading to this later this afternoon and hopefully should get the device tomorrow all being well.... I'll post again once I've finalised things with them... :)
Guest Shaunfarris Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Just been reading the Panther packages that this so called 'Unlimited' offer applies to, and have noticed a kinda of clue as to what it covers: unlimited texts and mobile internet browsing with Panther

Guest Dr Who Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I do think (and hope) that the unlimited package is indeed unlimited as I got the ocs girl to check with someone and she came back and said it did. As do we all! It just doesn't fill one with confidence when you ring up 3 times and get 3 different answers. Actually I have only had one answer each time, and that is it specifically refers to WAP, but obviously between us we have quite a collection of descriptions of this service.
Guest Wozbacca Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 i was told it was wap only, and theres another tarrif which is orange data max or something which is
Guest Saif Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 whatever happened to Mr. Orange???? we really must get a serious rep from each of the operators onto these forums! still not had time to make the call... do let us know if you go for it or not. ta

Guest Saif Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Firstly Jim - thanks for getting back to me... but managed to get it sorted poor Melanie had to chase a couple of supervisors. Right then... my final (for now) update on my upgrade saga. I've just upgraded to the 18 month
Guest jimbouk Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Cool! Hope helen or hazel (or whatever her name is) set my unlimited date correctly - otherwise she won't get a date with me! I am glad I took a punt and rang them this morning on the off chance - as I am getting mine delivered tomorrow . If I'd waited til one of you lot found out and posted it here first, I would have to wait til next week too.
