Wired Headset (SHS5600) not transmitting voice from microphone

I have an SMT5600 and the OEM wired stereo headset (SHS5600). The phone recognizes the headset (switches to headset mode) and I can use headset to listen to music or conversations, but the microphone does not transmit my voice during calls to the phone (e.g. other party can not hear me, but I can hear them). Tried a replacement headset - same problem. Tried headset in another phone - works fine. If I blow into the mic during a call, I can hear it in my headset, but nothing is going through to the phone.

I'm thinking that it might be an issue with the jack, but the behaviour is quite odd. Any ideas/suggestions on how to troubleshoot more / fix this?

Ive got the same problem. I got a headset to work ONCE when it was partially out of the jack. But I still try to do that and has yet to work again.

Same issue here. Microphone just stopped working, but headphones still work. Tried new OEM headset with same results. Any help would be appreciated....

Same thing happened to med (Qtek 8310)

Also, the button for taking an incomming call don't work anymore..
