So the University of Southampton boffins were bored one day and "shot" some flourine atoms at the boron/silica stuff that microprocessors were made of...and as the flourine blasted through the boron/silica it left some holes behind it. As a result electrons could whizz faster through the layers in a chip and hey presto a microprocessor that runs at a theoretical speed of 110ghz - which would mean a real world speed in phones etc of 10ghz...

And here's us enjoying our 800mghz processors...

Perhaps they could do something useful like work out how they're going to power the bloody thing?
