Guest jimbouk
As discussed on various threads (including the must have software thread), the wireless today plug in is a really useful tool - but those of us who set it up on previous devices enjoyed the fact that if you clicked on it, it took you to com manager - whereas on Hermes it doesn't. Have any of you knowledgeable people out there had a chance to look at the plug in and its reference to netui.dll and work out a) why it doesnt work on clicking or :D how to get it to work? Guest Snoopstah
Is that the thing with the network name at the top, and the wifi and BT status below it? I enabled that on my Vario II (registry hack), and if I tap it I'm taken to the comms manager (the screen that lets you click on the icons to enable/disable wifi/bt/activesync/etc). Didn't do anything special...
Guest Paul (MVP)
Hang on, on your Vario you can click it? :D P
Guest Snoopstah
I'm confused... Are we talking about the plugin 3rd down in this screenshot? (I know it's not a Hermes device, but that's the plugin I've enabled) http://www.xms-fr.com/images/today_wireless.jpg If so, then when I tap on that, I get taken to the comms manager (looks like this) http://f.hatena.ne.jp/images/fotolife/e/eb...60322030919.jpg Edit: Assuming we're not at cross-purposes and this is remarkable in some way, the reg keys I entered are: New Key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Wireless In that key: DWord: Type Value: 00000004 DWord: Enabled Value: 00000001 DWord: Order Value: 00000000 String: DLL Value: "netui.dll" DWord: Options Value: 00000000 DWord: Flags Value: 00000000 Edited August 23, 2006 by Snoopstah

Guest jimbouk
And there was me starting this thread in the hope that some bright spark would tell me that they had got it working on any Hermes device...I didn't realise that it already was on other variants/roms! Guest Paul (MVP)
Sadly, netui.dll can't easily be extracted from the Vario ROM IIRC... :D P
Guest jimbouk
Sadly, netui.dll can't easily be extracted from the Vario ROM IIRC... :D P what...even by someone like you? (why would that dll be different between these variants?)
Guest Paul (MVP)
Even by me... yet :D Don't know why, but I guess it is! When I get a Vario, i'll check it out. P
Guest matho
netui.dll is in the Windows folder... I may be showing my ignorance, but would it be as simple as just overwriting it with a netui.dll file from a Vario II?
