Guest finisterre Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Sent a text t'other day and didn't get one. Thx.
Guest Dade Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 You can request a delivery report on a per message basis. When you are composing the message go to Menu at the bottom the choose message options - request delivery report.
Guest AaronW Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I hope in the next version of Windows Mobile they improve the return receipt function.
Guest eaglesrest Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I hope in the next version of Windows Mobile they improve the return receipt function. You can set it on for all text messages by going into options for the Text Message account and ticking Request Delivery Notifications
Guest tubaloopy Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I think you can also do it by putting RCT at the start of your message (assuming you are using Orange). For example if you want to send a message to someone which just says 'hello' and you want to know when they got it in you SMS type 'RCTHello' and they should just see the word 'hello' and you should get a receipt. For O2 and T-Mobile you put *0# instead of RCT. I used to use these when I had a Treo 650 because it only had an option for read receipts on MMS and not on SMS. I haven't used Vodafone so i don't know if either of these codes works with them.
Guest jimbouk Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 and O are apparently going to start charging 1p for all delivery reports...
Guest stug Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 There is a great little application here http://www.saman-cz.com/ppc/index.html?drfovrw.html which a) allows you to turn on delivery receipts for all messages and :D translates the number to a name from your contacts. It is probably the first thing I install on PPC phones
Guest Wam7 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 and O are apparently going to start charging 1p for all delivery reports...They have already started charging on all new tariffs. Amazing really! :D
