WM5 - Renaming a messaging account

Hi All,

Picked up a T-Mobile Vario 2 yesterday and had a go at setting it up so that it could retrieve e-mail from my standard e-mail account. Unfortunately as my service provider is not one of the known standard ones, WM5 named the new messaging account after the server that it retrieves the mail from. This is an eyesore and I would like to give the account a more friendly name such as "My E-mail".

Had a search and found this article on how to rename the account in WM 2003, but this doesn't seem to work in WM5 as my new custom e-mail account isn't listed under the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\

Anyone have any other ideas on how I can change this accounts name ?

i was hoping to do this too...

i wanted to change the POP3 to be gmail or something

it would just mean that the account names held more relavance.

Easiest way is to delete and re-add the account, this time remembering to enter the name you want.
