Guest Confucious Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 with radiation.....only way to kill the worms really lol Why do you want to kill them? Much tastier when they're still wriggling
Guest mike-oh Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Grilly McGrill all the way for me! Frying is nasty and evil and results in soggy bacon with strips of rubbery lard on the side. I spose you could fry the shite out of it and get it crispier but at least with grilling most of the bad stuff melts off.
Guest mandt Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 The best way to cook bacon by far is.... Get the missus to do it :)
Guest nevawlkalone Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) Fried...the proper and only way it should be done. Its what a frying pan n gridle pan where made for...its just sooooooooo right! Edited November 13, 2006 by nevawlkalone

Guest Alpha4 Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Fried all the way, but gotta be crispy. Only Streaky will do for this. Get it crispy by putting a weight on top of it whilst it's frying... No not the missus :) . I use an old fashioned heavy flat-iron. Lovely crispy golden rashers.
Guest gvr Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Between grilled & fried?? Grilled every time ....but....and I know I'll get shunned for just saying this.... I tend to microwave it if I'm feeling particularly lazy
Guest pookiecheeks Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 hello all, ..hmm, lovely crispy bacon(grilled), wholemeal bread and lashings of spicy brown sauce... pooks ps. maybe paul could do a video pod thingy on how to cook bacon modaco stylee ?

Guest mcwarre Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 That's one way to ruin it :D Has to nice and crispy If you microwave it for long enough it will go crispy :)
Guest Confucious Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Nah- got to be fried to a crisp :)
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Umm i didnt think you were supposed to microwave raw meat? :/ Fried for me btw, but never crispy. It has to be thick and juicy!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 I buy the packs that you microwave for 3 minutes. They come 4 strips in a pack (raw). You throw the whole pack in and cook. The bag they are in keeps them from splashing! As far as frying which is the way I cook when I have alot....why do you use oil or fat? doesnt the bacon have enough? It just makes it's own juices to cook in.

I'd rather fry... but I normally cook on a griddle pan with no extra fat
Guest mavisdavis Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 I fry my bacon in it own fat then chuck in slices of bananna in the fat n add them to the feat, (seen it on 5minuet meal at 3:30 am,just crawled in from a club n thought it sounded great) anyhow had it again in the afternoon when I woke and it tasted just as good then as it did pissed ;-)

And then served with treacle...
Guest Confucious Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Get pig to walk past candle then lie on plate betweem 2 pices of bread with marmite....
Guest Christopher Woods Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 If I'm having a big fry-up, I'll fry the bacon - otherwise it gets grilled cause I love crunchy rashers of bacon. Frying just makes them too greasy and salty without something like tomatoes or beans to offset it. My vote just took it to 24 apiece - who'll be the one to tip the balance?
Guest magic_peanuts Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 My vote just took it to 24 apiece - who'll be the one to tip the balance? Well it's now 26-24! It has to be grilled. I grew up near a pig farm in Wiltshire so I can't have anything other than proper thick cut Wiltshire bacon, grilled to the exact point where it turns crispy on the outside but is still juicy inside. Serve at least 3 rashers in between doorstops of wholemeal bread thickly buttered. It doesn't need ketchup, mayo, mustard, HP, nothing. If it does, you over cooked it. Consume while hot with a huge mug of tea.
Guest Samuran Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I think that this question should have been do you prefer back, middle or streaky? Even if it only confused our friends from the states... as far as I'm aware they only have streaky over there anyway... hah Ben

I work for the company behind Danepak etc. I grill.... till its crispy :) Ben
