How do I make a call with the keyboard?

I dont know if this is a really stupid question, but I dont have a solution to it...

When i have my TYTN mounted in my car it's in the open position with the keyboard visible.

While driving i would really like to operate the phone onehanded :(

But my problem is that when i press the green phon to enter phonemode, and dial a number on my keyboard the following happens:

If I dial 08123455, the display shows 0NNUIHJJ

If I dial the same number, but pressing the "blue cirkle key" before every input (or pressed all the time, with no hands on the steering wheel...), the display shows 0NNUIHJJ 08123455

When I press the green phone to make the call, it dials only "0"

Im I doing something wrong? :rolleyes:

How do i call 08123455 by using the keyboard?

its easy basically you have to press then press again (ie twice to lock the function) the button on the bottom left side with the red dot on it this enables the alternate characters for the keys

in the case of the number keys the numbers are enabled then dial the number you want and press the green button and hey presto

I tried that, pressing twice, even holding down all the time, but there is no difference, it still just dials "0"

Ok i Ive tried it out again as as it happens you dont need to press the dot key at all. (sorry about that wrong info)

open the phone app (i press the green button) and type in a number eg 02392 to do this i just type in

.UIMU

or the keys which have the numbers as alternates that i want. Yes it shows .UIMU but it also searches for phone numbers which start with 02392 so it does both and displays both too.

then when ive typed in the number (whether its found it in the phone book or not) i just press the green button again and it dials

Im sorry i dont seem to see what the difficulty is.

my display shows 0UIMU, not .UIMU, with the digits 02392

I then press the green button to make the call, and the display shows "Dialling... 0", and the phone disconnects (obviosly)

I think i have a bug or something :rolleyes:

are you sure you smart dialling is on?

not sure on the hermes but on my vario its:

in phone app press: menu>smart dialling options>enable smart dialling. then it should work as described above

Yes, smart dialling was on, but when i turned it off, i could enter the number i wanted by first double clicking the blue function key.

I would really like to keep smart dialling on though... :rolleyes:
