Guest ingster Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Hi peeps, just a quick message to all Ex M2000 (Blue angel) users now using the M3100 (Hermes) - if there are any! I've just signed up for a 3100, just waiting for stock to arrive, and as i'm an ex M2000 user (went for a SE k750i for 9 months, got sick of the silent call issue) i'm just wondering how they compare, i still use my M2000 as a PDA but i wanted to go back to the all in one device. So while i'm waiting for stock has anyone got any reports on how the 3100 comapres to the 2000? Thank's for your help
Guest lininjim Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Hi mate, I had an XDA IIs (Blue Angel) as well and now got the Vario II. I miss the large screen but of course you can't have a large screen on a small device. The Hermes seems a better equipped device to me, all the things you wanted to do with your B.A. (like run WM2005) but couldn't seem to run with ease. I like it a lot, the keyboard is sooooo much better on the Hermes. Battery life is not as good (imho) but hey I can plug it into my laptop whilst at work to keep it topped up. It also connects to the built in bluetooth in my car (Toyota Prius T-Spirit) much much faster than the B.A. ever did. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mine. Rgs Jim
Guest hennapod Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Recently upgraded from an M2000 to M3100. I think the only major difference is the different keyboard. The M3100's is surely far easier to use (except when you have the headphones plugged in - slightly awkward getting your hand round it). Otherwise I think it's just lots of little differences: Better res camera. Slightly quicker. More compact (unless you have to have a huge screen). Scroll wheel. 3G. They all add up to make it a cracker I reckon.
